Birdhouse - Repeat Impressions SOTW

Happy Memorial Day!  And happy Monday - time for a new SOTW at Repeat Impressions.  This week's SOTW is Birdhouse (4317-E).  As always, the Repeat Impressions SOTW is offered to the RI blog readers at 50% off for the week.  Go to the RI blog, The House That Stamps Built, to get the details and the link to the stamp.  While you are at the blog, please check out what the other Rock Stars created using this image!
I created this card for today's RI post but also for the SCS Inspiration Challenge.  This week's challenge was to find inspiration at the Plates and Napkins website.  I was inspired by the Lenox Chirp Beverage Paper Napkin.  I started off paper piercing two borders and masked them off with Post-It notes before stamping RI's Humorous Swing Stamp Side 1 stamp a few times and then the Birdhouse.  I also had to mask off the bird when I stamped the lower branch.  I kept the borders masked while I water colored the scene.  I added a 3D K&Co Bee sticker (to cover a smudge!).
Thanks for coming by!
Supplies: Stamps - Repeat Impressions; Paper - PaperTrey; Ink - Versafine Onyx Black; Misc - Water Color Pencils, Aquabrush, Paper Piercer, Piercing template, K&Co 3D Bee Sticker, Post-It Notes, Foam Squares

Woodware USA Challenge #29 - Use a Forgotten Embellishment

This week's WoodwareUSA challenge is to use a forgotten embellishment on our project.  I decided to use my silver brads that I've had forever and haven't used in forever!!  I thought they would make great wheels on this cute Parcel Train.  I stamped the train tracks on the piece of card stock, then stamped each part of the train on scrap white cardstock and cut them out.  I colored them in with Copic markers and attached the brads on the wheels.  The three pieces of the train were attached to the cardstock with the tracks with foam squares.  I cut a piece of felt for the steam (there are two steam images in this set but I wanted to use the felt).
Thanks for coming by!
Supplies: Stamps - WoodwareUSA; Paper - PaperTrey; Ink - Memento; Misc - Copic Markers, Brads, Felt, Foam Squares

Speedy the Cat Friends Challenge #57 - Ivory and Lace

Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge.  This week we have been challenged to use ivory and lace.  Ivory and lace = shabby chic to me so that is what I tried here - not my style though I love to look at shabby chic cards.  My lace is the lacy scallop border punch.  All the cardstock that I used is ivory 140# weight card stock from Mark's Finest Papers - awesome cardmaking paper!  The two circular die cuts are from Marianne Designs Createables.  I stamped the magnolia from MFP's Magnolia Wedding and cut it out and popped it up.  The patterned paper is from Prima.
Now it is your turn to create a new card using ivory and lace and link it directly to InLinkz on Mark's Finest Papers blog for a chance to win a new stamp set.  If you use MFP stamps you will be entred twice!

Repeat Impressions What if Wednesday (WIW) DCC by Michele

This is my second post for today. For Flutter By Wednesday please scroll down or click here.

Today's Repeat Impressions What if Wednesday is another Designer's Choice Challenge (DCC).  Rock Star Michele has challenged us to include stitching on our card - either real or faux.  I chose to hand embroider the border using the cross stitch between the patterned paper and the white cardstock with brown embroidery thread.  I paper pieced the Comfy Chair (2628-H) with Basic Grey's Sugared patterned paper and popped it up with foam squares.  The sentiment is also from Repeat Impressions.
Now it is your turn to play - just create a new card or project including some stitching (real or faux) and link it directly to InLinkz on the RI blog, The House That Stamps Built for a chance to win an entire sheet of rubber!  You will be entered twice if you use RI stamps on your creation.
Thanks for coming by!

Flutter By Wednesday #156 - Clean and Simple (CAS)

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday.  Today's challenge is to create a CAS card and to include a butterfly, Fairy or an angel.  Since CAS is my most comfortable style the challenge for me was to decide on what image to use!!
Here is my card:
I used the butterfly die cut from PaperTrey that goes with the stamp set called Butterfly Dreams.  I stamped the monarch butterfly with Versafine Onyx Black and then colored them in with water color pencils and an aquabrush.  I then stamped the sentiment on the a panel of card stock and embossed it with the Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I attached the butterflies by their bodies with glue dots and added black rhinestones.
Now it is your turn to create a CAS card and remember to include the butterfly, fairy or angel.  Then link it directly to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.

I cased Joanne's CAS Just Believe card keeping the same layout. I changed the image, colors and sentiment.  I used the Sweet 'N Sassy Wildflowers and Serene Silhouette sets.  I colored the images with markers, spritzed water on the image and then stamped onto the white card stock.

SCS FS224 - Carly Robertson

This week at SCS the Featured Stamper is Carly Robertson.  She is a wonderful CAS stamper.  The first card here was inspired by two of Carly's cards:  Home Sweet Home and You're Invited.  The set of four cards was inspired by her Hot Diggity Dog card.
I used Love Lives Here for my first card and Tiny Treats Valentine for the set of cards.  Both sets are from PaperTrey.

Speedy the Cat Friends Challenge #56 - Tone on Tone

Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge!  This week we are challenged to create a tone on tone card and to pop up the focal image.   I stamped the camellia from Mark's Finest Papers Apples and Camellia with Memento Angel Pink on the card front and on Bazzill pink cardstock.  I stamped the camellia several times and cut out different layers of each so I could make layers which I attached with foam squares for the popped up dimension.  I used a Sizzix border embossing folder for the side and bottom of the card.  The sentiment is from another MFP set - Natures Postage Stamp.
Now it is your turn - create a new card following the challenge criteria and link it directly to InLinkz on Mark's Finest Papers blog for a chance to win a stamp set from next month's release.

Repeat Impressions What if Wednesday (WIW) Sketch M1811

This is my second post for today - for Flutter By Wednesday please scroll down or click here.

Welcome to Repeat Impression's (RI) What if Wednesday.  Wendy has provided a CAS sketch for us this week.

Here's my take on the sketch:

I used Repeat Impression's Wings Negative (5901-M) on the vertical panel and stamped the RI Monarch Butterfly (107-F) on the cardfront and then again on some scrap card stock and cut it out and popped it up on top.  The horizontal panel was made by inking the inside of an embossing folder with purple ink and then running white card stock through my Big Shot.
Now it is your turn to create a card based on this sketch for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to RI.  You will be entered twice if you use RI images on your creation.  Directly link up your card to InLinkz on the RI blog, The House That Stamps Built and while you are there check out what the other Rock Stars created using the sketch!

Flutter By Wednesday #155 - Sketch by Carly#31

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday #155. Today we have a sketch challenge - provided by Carly:

Here is my take on the sketch:
I used a new to me image called Butterfly Kisses from the Craft's Meow.  I did change up the sketch a bit to accommodate the image.  The boxes on the bottom of the sketch reminded me of a woven ribbon so  I used my Ribbon Border Punch from Fiskars and weaved the Scarlet Jewel Swiss Dotted ribbon through.
Now it is your turn to play - just create a card based on Carly's sketch and link it directly to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.  Don't forget to include a butterfly, fairy or an angel!
Thanks for coming by!
Supplies: Stamps - The Craft's Meow; Paper - PaperTrey; Ink - Versafine Onyx Black, Scarlet Jewel; Misc - Ink blender sponge, Fiskars border punch, Ribbon, Cuttlebug embossing folder

Flutter By Wednesday #154 - Anything But a Card

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday.  This week's challenge is to make Anything But a Card - but remember to include a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your card!

I created a butterfly box - I used Qbee's Butterfly Box Large from BrendaQuintana.com.  I've had this template for quit a while and am not sure it is still available from that site.  I used various butterfly and bird die and punches to decorate the box and lots of my paper scraps, buttons and brads.  The ribbon is the handle.
So now it is your turn to create anything but a card and link it up directly to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.
Thanks for coming by!

Speedy the Cat Friends Challenge #54 - Just Paper, Stamps and Ink

Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge.  This week Susan has challenged us to create a card using just Paper, Stamps and Ink - no embellishments.  Just my kind of card.  I used this cool owl image from Mark's Finest Papers Here Comes The Grad, which will be released this coming Tuesday, May 10th.  I like this in black and white since the image has so much fine detail.  I used a Cuttlebug Frame embossing folder to finish it off.  The card stock I used is also from mark's Finest Papers and it is 140 lb weight and it is awesome for card bases!!
Now it is your turn to create a new card for the challenge and link it directly to InLinkz on Mark's Finest Papers blog for a chance to win a new stamp set.  If you use MFP's stamps you will be entered twice for a chance to win!
