From Tel Aviv to the Sea of Galilee

Today, Tuesday, June 26, we started out from Tel Aviv (this photo is from our hotel room balcony -the Mediterranean Sea) and went north up the west coast of Israel to the very north west point and across the north of Israel on the Lebanese border road to Tiberius, the Sea of Galilee. We are staying at a Kibbutz there.

Our first stop was in Atlit, a detention camp for illegal immigrants that were captured by the british after the end of WWII.

The immigrants were detained here anywhere from 2 months to 2 years. The above picture is of one of the barracks at the camp. After Atlit we continued up the coast to the beautiful port of Haifa where we enjoyed the views of the beautiful gardens of the Bahai Golden Shrine.

Here are some pictures from our visit to Rosh Hanikra at the Lebanese border where we descended by cable cars and walked the tunnels to see the beautiful grottos carved out of the limestones by the waves of the Mediterranean Sea.

It was a very long and wonderful day!
Thanks for coming by!
