ATCAS#9 SPRING
Welcome to ATCAS #9 which I am the hostess for. I picked the code word SPRING for this challenge since Spring officially started yesterday! Here in California our state flower, the Golden Poppy is an early sign that Spring is on its way. Before I show you my card I would like to introduce our sponsor for this challenge:
This week we are proud to have
as our sponsor. Stephanie from Clearly Bestotted Stamps is generously giving our CAS Perfectionist two stamp sets from her delightful range! Please check out the ATCAS Challenge blog for the details!
I chose to use this Poppy image from Rubbernecker Stamps for my card since these flowers really do announce that Spring is on its way here in Northern California (see photo below). This is a two step stamp. I stamped the line art with Versafine Onyx Black. For the flower part I colored the poppies with three Memento markers directly onto the image and huffed on the stamp before I stamped it, using a Stamp-a-majig. The sentiment is from a GinaK set called A Year Of Flowers.
Here is a picture of the poppies by the lake near my house taken on March 16:
Aren't they just gorgeous??
Thanks for coming by!

Harriet, these golden poppies are stunning! Such a beautiful card xx
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Harriet. Your cards always look to elegant with all you white space, but when I try it, they don't look anywhere as nice. I will have to start casing you more often. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteHarrier, your California poppies are AWESOME!!!! I love the way you have coloured it, I thought it was with watercolor and then saw your explanation about the two step stamp... love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! I've missed your CAS cards. Will have to check out your challenge blog.
ReplyDeleteI nearly didn't comment Harriet after seeing the photos of those gorgeous poppies......I think you've put the kibosh on Spring ever coming to the UK as half of the country are snowed in and the other half are flooded!!! Still, on to more important things. I love your card with the two step stamping....very CAS and gorgeous colours.
