I made this card at my friend Mary's house today. I met Mary and Kathleen at a Zindorf workshop a few years ago. They live about 45 minutes - 1hr from me and we haven't gotten together for such a long time! It was so much fun to finally get together. Kathleen's project was this awesome butterfly card made from 2 memory Box die. I used shiny gold cardstock for the intricately cut part and some gorgeous Washi paper for the wing. The other patterned paper is Stella Rose from MME.
This next card was Mary's project. This is a very deceiving picture - the white butterflies are the negative of a Memory Box Butterfly border die cut from the blue paper. We started with white glossy card stock and stamped a background stamp with Versamark (I used a French Script background). Then we chose three colors of Distress Inks and "mushed" them onto a smooth surface such as glass or plastic and spritzed water on the ink to get them to mix together. We laid the glossy cardstock onto the ink and moved it around until the entire front of the card was covered. We dabbed a baby wipe to remove the excess ink and then heated it with a heat gun. We then finished the card off by punching out the ovals and stamping the sentiment. The embossed resist panel is attached with foam tape so that it is raised off of the white card base.
Thanks for coming by!
