With Sympathy
Unfortunately I needed to make a sympathy card. My good friend Jan's mother passed away over the weekend. It happened at the best time possible for Jan as she was surrounded by her loving sisterhood group at our annual retreat.
Jan's favorite color is purple/lavender and today's SCS color challenge was to use Blackberry Bliss, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz. I substituted with Seedless Preserve Distress marker, Pool Party marker and Memento Pear Tart marker and water colored with them. The flowers and butterfly are from Hero Arts and the sentiment is from Avery Elle.
I will submit this card to the Hero Arts challenge - Nature.
Thanks for coming by!

That is a gorgeous card, Harriet! Beautiful use of the colors. So sorry for your friend's loss.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Sorry you had to make it. That reminds me that Joanne's mother passed away when she and Joyce were in Omaha with Georgia and me. God is good as he surrounds us with love when we need it the most.
ReplyDeleteHow special for Jan that she was with such good friends at the time and that you could lend support to her. It's never "fun" to have to make a sympathy card but it is nice though that you personalized the card for her by using her favorite colors. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about Jan's mother passing, Harriet. It must have been very comforting for her to be with you all on the weekend and I'm sure she will treasure this stunning watercolor art you created for her! Hugs, Darnell
