April CAS Watercolor Challenge
Happy April! The rains here in California created gorgeous wildflower fields all over the state. Our poppies (state flower) are all in bloom too. Since it is the start of a new month we have a new CAS Watercolor Challenge for you - Green & Pink.
I created two cards using the same Penny Black Brush Stroke Stamp and two different watercolor methods. The first one was using my Tombow markers and huffing on the marker before stamping. I used two shades of each color and laid down the lightest on the entire image, and stamped, then highlighted with the darker shade and stamped again. I used my MISTI of course!
For this second card I used my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and painted right onto the image using the lighter shades first, then highlighting with the darker shade like I did with the Tombow markers. I didn't have to huff on the image since these are wetter markers and the colors blended more easily.
I like how they both came out. Do you like one better than the other?
I hope you will join us this month. Also, please check out the beautiful samples from the rest of the team and from our guest designer for this month: Marcia from Marcia K Designs.
Thanks for coming by!

Both your watercoloured images are beautiful Harriet, but I think I like the 2nd one best because it has a little more color and shading in the blooms from your Zigs. TFS both cards my friend. Hugs..
ReplyDeleteWow...love them both, such a pretty colour combination. More colour definition on the second but it's not fair to have favourites xxxx
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous Harriet! Two great techniques that give a different look. I do like the blended colours of the second card a little better, but like I said, they are both so pretty. Great job with both techniques! xx
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are beautiful, but the watercolouring with Zigs just looks a little more vibrant. I love that.
ReplyDeleteBoth are very pretty! This is one of my favorite PB stamps!
ReplyDeleteThese are both gorgeous, Harriet! Two very different but equally beautiful looks. I love them both!
ReplyDeleteLove both, but a slight preference for the second - I like it's shades of pink a bit more. Wonderful card for our Green and Pink challenge!
ReplyDeleteI think they both look great too...I think the second one has a bit better blend to the colour...so lovely mf.
