A Tough Color Challenge

The CAS197 challenge on SCS this week is to use the following colors: plum, lavender, gray and tan.  I thought this was a challenge for sure!  The above picture is the first card that I made.  This is a reverse masking and blending of colors.  I cut the Memory Box Modern Landscape border from silver card stock - had a hard time finding a good gray color.
I really wanted to do some stamping so I made another card with some supplies that I had laying around on my desk:
Another reverse masking card - sponged the colors inside the Spellbinders butterfly die negative space.  Then I stamped the image and sentiment with Memento Gray Flannel ink.  The image is from Paper Angel and the sentiment is from PaperTrey.

I still wasn't thrilled with either card so I looked through Pinterest and decided to try this card with today's colors.  This is the result:
I like this one the best.  The papers are from DCWV Linen Closet and PaperTrey's Bitty Boxes patterned papers.  I used the Simon Says Stamp Daisy die.  I left room for a sentiment when I decide what I will use this for.

Thanks for coming by!

  4. That may have been a tough color challenge but you really came through with it. The first one is neat the way you did the colored background but I absolutely love the third card you did!
