Two Step Stamping

The SCS CAS challenge this week is to create a card using the 2 step stamping technique.  There are several different ways to do this.  For the card above I used the Rubbernecker stamp set that has a solid stamp and an outline stamp.  I colored the solid stamp with Distress inks and markers, misted it and then stamped onto watercolor paper.  When it was dry I stamped the outline image with Versafine Onyx Black over the solid image.  I then used a paint brush and painted clear water around the image and used watered down watercolors to paint the background.

This next card used a 2 step stamp set from PaperTrey.  The two images are both solid, but one is the outer part of the butterfly and the other image fills in the open areas left by the first image.  I used the colors from the Color Throw Down 295:

I used PaperTrey's Scarlett Jewell, Raspberry Fizz and SU Pretty in Pink inks.  The inside "spots" are colored over with a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen and I adhered pearls for the bodies.

Thanks for coming by!

  2. Both are stunning. The first looks like a painted picture - an artistic masterpiece. The butterflies look like poetry in motion.
