ARTplorations Stencil Blog Hop

Today the STAMPlorations design teams are featuring new stencils designed by our team member Sanna Lippert with a blog hop!  Here is some blog hop information for you:

I have created a few cards using the Senecia 1 stencil and the Leaves 2 stencil:

 This first card is basically a one layer card using the stencil in the standard way: blending Distress inks with a blending tool. The sentiment is from Trendy Feathers (retired set).

 I used the Leaves 2 stencil to create a background. I already had a watercolored card front so I blended distress ink with the stencil over the water color. I used my stitched rectangle dies and cut out two pieces of the panel and layered them onto the black card front. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations Fond Expressions 2 set and the dragonfly from the Dragonfly Layering set.

This last card is my favorite. I blended Distress Oxide Inks on a watercolor panel. I then sprayed water onto the Senecia 2 stencil and carefully laid the stencil wet side down onto the blended panel. I used a paper towel to press the stencil into the paper and to mop up any excess water before I removed the stencil. The water removes the ink and the open or positive part of the stencil remains the original color (the darker portions). I used a Penny Black border die on the card front and then layered a portion of the watercolored and stenciled panel on top. The sentiment is from Trendy Feathers (retired set).
