STAMPlorations is having a CUTplorations Christmas Redux blog hop.
Visit the designers' blogs and leave comments for a chance to win one of two prizes: choice of two (2) Christmas word/phrase dies or a $15 GC to the store. Commenting closes October 5. Winner to be announced on October 10 in the September Winners post.
Below are my projects featuring CUTplorations dies. Both use alcohol ink backgrounds on Yupo paper. I just got some of these inks and have been experimenting with them.
This first card background reminds me of the Northern Lights. I used the Stitched Winter Landscape die and the Warm Winter Wishes Phrase die. I especially love the fonts used for the sentiment!
This next card was really hard to photograph - I used shiny gold cardstock to cut out the Peace Love Joy Phrase sentiment and Christmas Reindeer. I created the background by applying reds and grren alcohol inks to the Yupo paper, then applying Alcohol Blending Solution and blowing the ink around through a straw. When the ink spread the way I liked it I set it aside for a few minutes until I got some tacky spots. I then used a brayer to roll on gold transfer foil which stuck to the tacky areas. Pull off the foil and you have the gold in various random areas on the background. It looks a lot better in real life!!
Note:
From September 24 to October 8 (2 weeks) dies in the Christmas Dies section (https://
