I am really excited to be a part of the STAMPlorations stencil design team. I enjoyed being on the CAS DT and am looking forward to this new role since I love to use the ARTplorations stencils. I am sharing my projects over on the STAMPlorations blog - Stencil Sunday post today.
So here is my first post for STENCIL SUNDAY!
I used several different techniques to show how versatile stencils are. For my first two cards I used the ghosting technique:
After blending the card stock panel with distress inks, I laid the Dots All Over stencil on top of the panel and misted the entire panel with water. I used a paper towel to soak up the excess water, then lifted off the stencil. The water wicks away the color to leave a "ghost" image. Once the panel was dry I stamped the Better Than Autumn image and sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.
I used the ghosting technique again to create the oval background for this next card. Before I adhered the oval to the card base I sponged the line of birds from the Some Birds stencil with Black Soot distress ink. I die cut the Perched Bird from black cardstock and adhered it to the oval panel.
I used one of my favorite ARTplorations stencils for my next card - Leaf Prints:
I went through my stash of alcohol inked backgrounds and thought this color combination was perfect for a fall leaves theme. After taping the stencil in place with painters tape I used my alcohol ink blending tool with some Ranger Alcohol Lift ink and rubbed it all over the stencil. This ink really lifts the alcohol ink off of the panel. I love how this came out!
For this last card I only used part of the Holly Background stencil for a very CAS design:
I traced the leaves and berries with a Tuxedo Black Memento marker and colored them in with Copic markers. I used red Stickles on the berries and a clear Wink of Stella brush marker on the leaves.
The sentiment "Christmas Blessings" is from the Holiday Hexagons stamp set (retired).
Thanks for coming by!
