Speedy the Cat Friends Challenge #72 - Punches
Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge#72. We are being challenged to use punches on our cards. I actually had to use a leaf die because I didn't have anything appropriate in the way of punches for the card I wanted to make. I stamped the background panel with the leaf from a soon to be released set Autumn Glory. I painted the leaf image with Pearl-ex paints in various colors and stamped it onto white card stock. Wow does it shimmer! I also did a Pearl-ex wash on watercolor paper and cut a leaf with a Cuttlebug leaf die and embossed it with the companion embossing folder.
Now it is your turn to play - create something new using punches and link it directly to InLinkz on Mark's Finest Papers blog for a chance to win a not yet released stamp set. If you use MFP images you will be entered twice!

The dp is from an old DCWV Winter mat Stack.

Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge! This week Linda challenged us to use embossing - either dry or heat embossing. I chose dry embossing and made a CAS one layer card. I used a daisy embossing folder with a template to not emboss the middle in an oval shape. Then I stamped the daisies from Mark's Finest Papers Greet the Day With Gerber with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored them in with SU! markers. I colored the flower centers with a black Spica Glitter pen.

Speedy the Cat Friends Challenge #68 - Distressed Edges
Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge #68. This week Carol challenged us to make cards with distressed edges. That isn't something I normally do on my cards so it was a good challenge to stretch me. When I thought about the distressing it made me think about this fairy image from Mark's Finest Paper's Garden Fairies. I did a Twinking H2O color wash on water color paper for the background - I thought it would look mystical - but you can't see the shimmer in the photo!
Now it is your turn to create a new project with distressed edges and link it directly to InLinkz on the Mark's Finest Papers blog for a chance to win a not yet released stamp set. Speedy the Cat Friends Challenge #65 - 3 Hearts
Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge! This week the challenge is to use three hearts on our project. I used an image from Mark's Finest Papers called Hearts, Hearts, Hearts (how appropriate!) and stamped it three times using Raaspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise and Hawaiian Shores ink. I stamped the sentiment from the same set over two of the hearts. I thought it needed a bit of sparkle so I added a rhinestone to each heart in the center of one flower using the same color as the ink.
Now it is your turn to play for a chance to win a not yet released stamp set! Just create a project and include three hearts on it and link it directly to InLinkz on the Mark's Finest Papers blog. If you use MFP stamps you will be entered twice!

Speedy the Cat Friends Challenge #64 - Pink, Yellow and Green
Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge#64. This week's challenge is a color challenge: pink, yellow and green - the colors of summer! I used Mark's Finest Papers Sew What stamp set and an older FTL sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog. The patterned paper is from my stash and I don't remember what company made it -sorry. I stamped the thread spool, colored it with Copics and cut it out. I used Bakers Twine to wrap around the spool and stuck in a hat pin - both from Mark's Finest Papers. The buttons were made with PaperTrey Button Die. The border stitches were made with an image in the Sew What set.
Now it is your turn to play. Just create a new project using the challenge colors and link it directly to InLinkz on Mark's Finest Papers Blog for a chance to win a not yet released stamp set. If you use MFP stamps your name will be entered twice!

That cute crow is from the same set - I cut him out and popped him up on a foam square.

Speedy the Cat Friends Challenge #62 - Patriotic Card / 4th of July
Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge #62. The challenge is to make a card for the 4th of July. This was a challenge for me as I didn't have any Mark's Finest Papers (MFP) patriotic stamps. I looked through all of my MFP sets and decided that the dandelions from Just Dandy could look like fireworks. So I colored the top of the largest dandelion with Memento markers and stamped them on white card stock. I punched a fence for Speedy the Cat to sit on and watch the fireworks show. The string of banners is a die cut from an SEI paper pack. The sentiment is also from Mark's Finest Papers - Here Comes the Grad set.
Now it is your turn to play - just create a new card inspired by our theme - the 4th of July and add a direct link to it on InLinkz on the Mark's Finest Papers blog for a chance to win a not yet released stamp set. If you use MFP stamps your name will be entered twice for the chance to win!

Speedy the Cat Friends Challenge #58 - Paper Flowers
Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge - this week we were challenged to use paper flowers. I don't usually use raised flowers like these because I mail most of my cards, but this wedding card is for a friend to give to her granddaughter - it won't be mailed. This sketch is from MFT Wednesday Stampclub MFTWSC22. The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers Magnolia Wedding. Actually all materials used here are from Mark's Finest Papers - the card stock is the 140# weight which comes in white and ivory and is awesome for card bases!

Speedy the Cat Friends Challenge #57 - Ivory and Lace
Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge. This week we have been challenged to use ivory and lace. Ivory and lace = shabby chic to me so that is what I tried here - not my style though I love to look at shabby chic cards. My lace is the lacy scallop border punch. All the cardstock that I used is ivory 140# weight card stock from Mark's Finest Papers - awesome cardmaking paper! The two circular die cuts are from Marianne Designs Createables. I stamped the magnolia from MFP's Magnolia Wedding and cut it out and popped it up. The patterned paper is from Prima.

I stamped the camellia from Mark's Finest Papers Apples and Camellia with Memento Angel Pink on the card front and on Bazzill pink cardstock. I stamped the camellia several times and cut out different layers of each so I could make layers which I attached with foam squares for the popped up dimension. I used a Sizzix border embossing folder for the side and bottom of the card. The sentiment is from another MFP set - Natures Postage Stamp.
Now it is your turn - create a new card following the challenge criteria and link it directly to InLinkz on Mark's Finest Papers blog for a chance to win a stamp set from next month's release.
