STAMPlorations December CAS Card Challenge

This month's STAMPloratons CAS Card Challenge has an optional color twist: GREEN.

Here is my one layer card:

I paper pieced the Coffee Cup Row - Artsy Border stamp image with Making Memories patterned paper. I love the dimension paper piecing achieves. I left off a sentiment but I was thinking it would be nice to have a set of these to use as thank you notes for holiday gifts, or to send as a holiday card with the sentiment "warm winter wishes".

I hope you will come play with us this month. Here are the challenge rules:

  • Players can link up to 3 CAS cards.
  • Players can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
  • To qualify for the prize, players must display challenge graphic and link back to the challenge post (blogs only)
  • Prizes: $15 GC for the winner (voted by the team); $5 GC to three (3) randomly picked players
Thanks for coming by and happy holidays!!

  • Players can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.

STAMPlorations November CAS Card Challenge - Mid Month Reminder

There is still time to play in the STAMPlorations November CAS Card Challenge. Here is another card sample that I created:

This is a one layer card. I used the Leaf Print ARTplorations stencil and masked off the card front on both sides to create a narrow panel. I used some Distress inks and an ink blending tool to color in the stencil. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations Trendy Feathers (retired). I added a little 3D butterfly sticker from Little B. I also colored over the leaves with a clear Wink of Stella pen but you can't really see that in this photo.

STAMPlorations November CAS Card Challenge

Happy November - my favorite month of the year! This month's STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge is anything goes as always with an optional color twist: BROWN.  Here are the rules of the challenge:
  • Players can link up to 3 CAS cards.
  • Players can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
  • Prizes: $10 GC for the winner; $5 GC to the top picks
  • If there are 50 or more entries: 1 random winner of product of choice (3x5 stamp set OR 2 standard size stencils OR 1 CUTplorations word/phrase die)

I made a one layer card focusing on these cute, whimsical Christmas Reindeer:

This is a great design for mass producing holiday cards - all of the stamps were placed on the card front in my MISTI so I could ink them up and stamp a new card in seconds! I used a marker to color the nose of the largest reindeer.

I'm looking forward to seeing your submissions this month!

CAS Watercolor Card Challenge - November - TEXT

I am so excited to be a part of the team for the monthly CAS Watercolor Card Challenge. To see who else is on the team along with the creators of the challenge, Loll and Bonnie, click here.

The theme for this month's challenge is TEXT. So keep your card CAS, use text (other than a sentiment) and watercolor!  Here is my sample:

The image is all one stamp by Sweet 'N Sassy. I stamped it several times so I could get a good impression with my MISTI on 140 lb. watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black. I then masked off the sides of the image and proceeded to do a wet on wet watercolor using my Kuretake Gansai Tambi water colors. Once it was dry I removed the masking tape, painted the roses at the bottom and then applied a red rhinestone for her earring.

I am looking forward to seeing your creations and I'll be back mid month with another sample!

Grateful for You

I am grateful that I had a little time to stamp today! There are so many challenges out there in blogland and I created this card for a few of them:

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Just Us Girls - Leaves

Addicted to CAS - Watercolor

One Layer Simplicity Challenge - Fall colors (yellow, orange, red)

Virginia's View Challenge - Focal Point

CAS Watercolor Challenge - Autumn

I used the Simon Says Stamp / Altenew Be-Leaf Me stamp set and distress inks to create this card. This is a layered stamp set and so easy and fun to use! I spritzed the stamp after inking to create the watercolor on the leaves. I finished it off with a few sequins.

Happy Birthday

This is for the Winnie & Walter Belated 2nd Birthday Bash - rainbow challenge. It's a one layer card using distress inks and the sentiment is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black. I also stamped the image on the inside.

It's a New Day

It's a New Day and I actually had time to make a quick card! I made this for the SCS Inspiration Challenge. I love this new stamp set from STAMPlorations. I colored the image with Copic markers on the GinaK Pure Luxury card stock (Copics don't bleed through this cardstock) and then colored over it with my clear Wink of Stella Glitter brush marker. I am submitting this to STAMPloration's monthly CAS challenge:

and to Kathy's 30 day coloring challenge:

Birthdays Are For the Birds!

Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating their 200th sketch!  I think this "birds on a wire" stamp from Hero Arts fit the bill (or should I say beak! sorry....).  The sentiment is from Crafty Secrets.

Make A Wish

This is for the SCS CC542 challenge - use elegant eggplant, delightful dijon, cajun craze, mossy meadow. Dessert was to case one of the DT's cards.  I cased Maura's card.
I substituted the colors since I didn't have any of the SU! ones.  The butterfly image is from Hero Arts and the sentiment is from The Crafts Meow, which is retired. I used my Scor-pal to score lines down the right side where Maura had used an embossing folder on her card.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

I finally took some time to make a card!  Life has just been too busy and there doesn't seem to be an end very soon either.  Anyway this card was made for two challenges at SCS - CAS321 to make a card with the theme April Showers and TLC530 to make hand drawn lines on your card.
I used a Paper Artsy - JOFY flower stamp and colored it with markers and stamped it onto the card.  The clouds and raindrops from WPlus9 were also colored with a gray marker and stamped.  The sentiment from PaperTrey was inked with Versafine Onyx Black.  I used a fine Micron pen and drew the lines around the stamped images and then added little squiggles to the lines to match the squiggles on the flower stamp.

One Layer Celebrate!

The Less Is More challenge is to create a one layer card and to include an animal.  The SCS technique challenge was to create a mirrored image.  The bunny on the right is the Avery Elle image as designed and the one on the left is the mirrored image.  I inked up the bunny image and stamped it onto the back of a larger acrylic stamp, then stamped that image onto the card stock. I did use a fine tip black marker to darken some of the lines of the mirrored image.  The image was colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Essentials by Ellen.  I colored the balloon with my clear Wink of Stella glitter brush pen.
I am also submitting this to the AAA card challenge:

and to Simply Create Too:  Easter or Bunnies

Red Flower Throw Pillow

This was created for the SCS inspiration challenge.  I was inspired by the Red Flower Throw Pillow in this photo.  I used the Quarter Gerbera Daisy digi from Arielle's Wax Fruit company, printed it out and colored it with Copic markers.  I then brushed the center and some of the petals with my clear Wink of Stella glitter brush which shows up as the tiny white dots.

Happy Birthday to You

Today is my turn to host the Addicted to CAS Challenge #57.  I chose the Code Word MASK:

I thought this word would provide different interpretations such as a stamping technique, a mask as an object, etc.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Inspired By Stamping:

I would like to welcome Ellen Parker our guest designer for this month.  Please be sure to check out Ellen's awesome sample on the Addicted to CAS Challenge blog along with the rest of the team's samples for tons of inspiration!

I used masking tape to make the "frame" around the top and left side of the balloons, then I stamped them so that some parts were masked off.  I also made a mask for the balloon so I could over-stamp two more balloons.  I then stamped the sentiment with some words from the Winnie & Walter set The Big, The Bold, The Happy.  The balloons were colored with Copic markers and then I drew the strings with a Copic Multiliner pen and a ruler.

Here is another card that I used masking for - it is my favorite masking technique actually:

For this card I used a sheet of Eclipse masking paper and die cut the Cuttlebug Butterfly.  I then place the masking paper with the negative space onto the card front and sponged on some inks.  Then, keeping the mask in place, I stamped the bullrushes from a Verve set and the dragonfly from a PaperTrey set.  After removing the mask I stamped the sentiment.

Mailing Love

I created this card for the SCS CAS308 challenge - to translate your new year's resolution into a card.  I also used the colors from the Curtain Call Inspiration Photo.  I don't really make resolutions but I really do need to improve on mailing my cards on time or mailing them period!  I make them on time but I don't mail them on time and sometimes I forget to mail them.  So this is me mailing my cards and on time!!
I printed off this A Day For Daisies Mailing Love digi image onto Gina K Pure Luxury Card stock so that I could color it with Copics and not have the color bleed through this one layer card.
I am also going to submit this card to the current ADFD challenge which is Add Some Ombre.

Silver Happy Hanukkah

The CASology challenge this week was perfect timing for me.  I am finishing up my Hanukkah and Christmas cards and the cue card is SILVER:

This stamp set is from Casual Fridays and I stamped it with silver ink and embossed it with silver embossing powder.  The "flames" were done with gold ink and gold embossing powder.  This was a very quick and easy card to make for multiple card making!

Peace

I created this card for the Colour Me Playful Challenge and the SCS CAS challenge - Lovely as a Tree.

This is a one layer emboss resist card.  I masked off the top and bottom of the card front with Post-It notes.  I then stamped the tree and "snowflakes" with Versamark and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.  I then used an ink blending tool and blended the different color Distress Inks.  I removed the masks and stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black.

ATCAS #53 - Just A Note

Welcome to our latest ATCAS challenge.  The very talented Loll selected the code word: DOTS

Our sponsor for this challenge is Inspired by Stamping:

Since I don't know how to read music, those black little notes all look like dots to me so I chose this digital image for my dots!  The image was printed onto the card front so I could make it a one layer card.  I stamped the sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers (retired) in SU! Real Red and added a few
red sequins.

For more inspiration please stop by the ATCAS challenge blog and check out what the rest of the design team created!

LIM - More Than One Tree

This is my second post for today.  To view my ATCAS challenge post please scroll down.

The Less Is More challenge is to make a card with more than one tree.  I just happened to have out my PaperTrey sets and was planning to create a set of one layer cards so what better incentive than the challenge!  I used a combination of three stamp sets on the first card and just two on the other cards.  I used a white gel pen for highlights on the kraft cards.
