Happy Spring!
Welcome to a new month for the CAS Watercolor Card Challenge. This month we are celebrating Spring. Before we get started I wanted to mention how beautiful our LOVE gallery was last month!
Here is my sample:
One of my favorite flowers is the poppy. This image is from Altenew. I stamped the image (masking where needed) with gray ink from Altenew onto Tim Holtz water color paper (the smoother side). I then used my Zig Clean Color Brush markers and blended a few colors while they were wet. I used a stitched rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp to cut out the panel and adhered it to grey cardstock.
I love using the Zig Brush Markers - they make a quick and easy card! Please check out our Guest Designer Heather T for her awesome inspiration along with the rest of the team's creations.

Playing with Altenew - Lacy Scrolls
This card is a case of a card I saw on the Altenew blog that I pinned a while ago. I used a light shade of Altenew lilac ink to stamp the flower. I then used Copic Markers to color over the flower for a layered effect. I did the same with the leaves - stamped with Altenew ink and then highlighted with Copic markers. I used an embossing folder for the card base.

Playing with Altenew - Majestic Blooms
I went to visit my stamping friends Sheri and Georgia in Omaha for a week in Sept and we played a lot with our Altenew stamps and inks. Below is a card I made using the Majestic Blooms set. I used Zig Clean Color Brush pens to water color the line art image:
I used two step stamping leaves from the Vintage Flowers set. The sentiment is from Penny Black.

Grateful for You
I am grateful that I had a little time to stamp today! There are so many challenges out there in blogland and I created this card for a few of them:
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Just Us Girls - Leaves
Addicted to CAS - Watercolor
One Layer Simplicity Challenge - Fall colors (yellow, orange, red)
Virginia's View Challenge - Focal Point
CAS Watercolor Challenge - Autumn
I used the Simon Says Stamp / Altenew Be-Leaf Me stamp set and distress inks to create this card. This is a layered stamp set and so easy and fun to use! I spritzed the stamp after inking to create the watercolor on the leaves. I finished it off with a few sequins.

Visual Art Journaling - Watercoloring Images

The top two pages were created using a Penny Black flower stamp and coloring on it with distress markers, then misting it with water prior to stamping. The 2 page spread was created using a brass Dreamweaver cherry blossom stencil and tracing inside it with distress markers. I used just a paint brush with water to bring in the color from the outlines. Then I stamped the Altenew Orikami birds and butterfly with Antique Linen distress ink and used Twinkling H2O's to do no line watercoloring. The star in the photo is some confetti that was left from our end of session gallery showing! I just noticed it was on the page still!

Gingham Poppies
I stamped the Altenew poppy image with Tattered Rose and Shabby Shutters Distress inks and then water colored the poppies using the no line watercoloring technique.
I created this card for several challenges:
The SCS Free 4 All - use gingham;
the current Freshly Made Sketches
and the Paper Players - CAS watercoloring

Happy Birthday
I created this card for the SCS Inspiration challenge. Here is my inspiration piece:
I used my MISTI to stamp the three step Altenew Vintage Flowers using inks from PaperTrey. After stamping all of the flowers I used my PaperTrey Sentiment Splits Curvy Vertical die to cut the bottom panel and a piece of PaperTrey Terracotta Tile card stock. The sentiment is also from PaperTrey.
I am entering this card into Darnell's NBUS challenge - I never used these Vintage Flowers before;
to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes;
and to Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

ATCAS #47 - Oriental
Welcome to the newest ATCAS challenge! Sylvia is our hostess and she picked Oriental for the Code Word:
Our sponsor is:
The guest designer for September is Tenia of Jazzy Paper Designs. Be sure to check out Tenia's sample as well as the rest of the design team's samples on the ATCAS challenge blog for more inspiration.
I used the paper crane from Altenew's Keri Gami stamp set and stamped it on Japanese hand made paper and cut it out. I then stamped it on white card stock and adhered it to the back of the first one to strengthen it. I used a circle mask with a Heidi Swapp stencil on top and blended some Distress inks on the card front. The sentiment from the same Altenew set was stamped onto the card front and the crane was adhered with a foam square.

ATCAS 45 Geometric
Geometry - the branch of mathematics concerned with the properties and relations of points, lines, surfaces, solids, and higher dimensional analogs.
Geometric - 1. of or relating to geometry, or according to its methods. 2. (of a design) characterized by or decorated with regular lines and shapes.
I am so excited to host the ATCAS 45 challenge. I picked GEOMETRIC as our code word. Check out the definition above and check out the DT's samples, including our very talented guest designer Lyndal's sample on the Addicted To CAS challenge blog. For further inspiration click on the link below for graphic images:
Google search for images click here.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Scribble Designs:
Here is another shot of the card - you can see the Wink of Stella sparkle on the fish and sentiment better than in the first photo:
When I chose the code word I had these fish from Altenew in mind. I love the shapes in the Ori Kami set. I watercolored the fish with the wet on wet technique, cut them out and adhered them to the watercolored panel with foam squares. The bubbles and sentiment both from Winnie & Walter were stamped with Hero Arts Charcoal shadow ink. I embellished a few bubbles with sequins.
I used the colors from this week's Color Throw Down and I will submit this to that challenge:

Fathers Day Cards
This week's color challenge at SCS was to use black, white, crushed curry, strawberry slush and coastal cabana with a dessert option of Fathers Day/masculine card. These colors were selected from the SU! Kaleidoscope dsp. I had to Google the paper to see what it looked like. I loved the geometric designs which inspired both of these cards. The second card is a case of a card that Debbie Hughes created.
I used PaperTrey's Diamond Cover Plate die, removed some of the diamonds and colored them with the SU! markers listed in the challenge and then replaced. The sentiment is from Winnie and Walter and was cut with an MFT label die.
The second card uses a triangle image from Altenew and the "you rock" is also from Altenew. The "DAD" is from a PaperTrey set. Both cards were embellished with enamel dots.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Stamping with Embossing Folders
Audrie, the Inspiration Challenge hostess on SCS published a video on the Stamping with Embossing Folders technique that I used on these two cards. What a fun, quick and easy technique! The first card uses a Cuttlebug embossing folder and the second one uses an embossing folder from Sizzix. I used Distress Inks on both cards. The Thanks sentiment is from Winnie and Walter and the Hello is from Altenew.
I am submitting these to Moxie Fab World challenge - Hip on Handwriting.
