New Day

I created this shaker card for the SCS Inspiration challenge. Audrie provided 3 videos on making shaker cards out of your stamp image. I picked this awesome stamp from STAMPlorations and after stamping it I cut out the sun with a craft knife. Then I made the sun into a shaker window. I colored the rest of the image with Copic markers. I will also submit this to a few STAMPlorations challenges:

Monthly Theme & Sketch: Anything Goes
CAS challenge: Anything goes with a twist of Magenta
Spotlight Project Showcase: Ongoing
Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes

Imagine

It's been a week since I've been able to get time to make anything! I used a watercolor panel that I created last week when I was playing with Brushos:

I sprinkled Leaf Green and Turquoise powders onto water color paper and spritzed with water until I liked the coverage I got.  Before it was completely dried I used a Heidi Swapp stencil with butterflies and dabbed a wet baby wipe to remove some of the color.

I used the panel for the SCS Inspiration Challenge. I was inspired by the panel on the right of the three of the Blossom Painting.  I used the outline image from a Rubbernecker 2 step stamp set and then painted the flower in with purple Brusho mixed with water and a paint brush.  The white highlights were done with a white Sharpie paint pen.  The sentiment is from a different Rubbernecker set - I colored the sentiment with a black Memento marker and then stamped it onto the card base.

I had this card in my head since Friday when i saw a few challenges on SCS. I didn't have time to make it until this morning.  It came out just like I had it in my head!!

Happy Birthday

I created this card for the SCS Inspiration challenge.  Here is my inspiration piece:

I used my MISTI to stamp the three step Altenew Vintage Flowers using inks from PaperTrey.  After stamping all of the flowers I used my PaperTrey Sentiment Splits Curvy Vertical die to cut the bottom panel and a piece of PaperTrey Terracotta Tile card stock.  The sentiment is also from PaperTrey.

I am entering this card into Darnell's NBUS challenge - I never used these Vintage Flowers before;
to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes;
and to Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

Red Flower Throw Pillow

This was created for the SCS inspiration challenge.  I was inspired by the Red Flower Throw Pillow in this photo.  I used the Quarter Gerbera Daisy digi from Arielle's Wax Fruit company, printed it out and colored it with Copic markers.  I then brushed the center and some of the petals with my clear Wink of Stella glitter brush which shows up as the tiny white dots.

Faux Laser Cut Card

The inspiration site for the SCS Inspiration challenge tonight was the Paper Art & Sculpture Pinterest site.  I was inspired by two pins:  the humming bird and this pin, the 3rd frame down.  This site reminded me of the Faux Laser Cut technique that Jennifer McGuire shared on her blog.  I used a Quickutz Hummingbird die and a Cuttlebug/Anna Griffin flower die to make this card.

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Virginia's View Challenge #11 - Clean Slate

The Curtain Call - Winter Wonder
I was inspired by the neutral colors in the photo.

ShowCASe Your Style  - Use at least one die cut

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Darnell's NBUS challenge #3  - This is the first time I used the hummingbird die.

Thanks a Bunch

I used the flower image from the OCC - Copics class, colored the image twice and cut out and popped up some of the leaves for the paper tole technique. This card was inspired by the Blue Jeans and Daisy photo from the SCS inspiration challenge.  The Wplus9 pocket image was stamped with Faded Jeans Distress ink and cut out.  I stamped the flowers from the same stamp set across the card front and the sentiment from Winnie & Walter was stamped on the card front in Versafine Onyx Black.  The center of the flowers were colored with a white gel pen.

Inspired Cards

The SCS Inspiration Challenge this week is to find inspiration from a Pinterest board of journals - art journals, writing journals, etc.  This card was inspired by this Feather Fringed Lined Journal.
I heat embossed feather images and a sentiment from Stamplorations and used my Corner Chomper to round the corners.

This next card was inspired by the Sage Green Queen Anne's Lace Notebook Cover.  I stamped the solid image from Stacy Stamps with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto sage paper from Prism.  There are two other silhouette stamps in this set and I used them to make a quick set of notecards.

Friendship Set of Cards

My friend Darnell is celebrating the fact that she has over 500 blog followers!  She decided to have a "friendly" blog challenge:

All of the details are on her blog.

My NBUS are these images from a Penny Black set.  I was inspired to use these images by the SCS Inspiration Challenge.  The challenge was to be inspired by something at the Bassett website.  My inspiration piece was the White Flowers Canvas Wall Decor.

I am submitting these cards to the Inkspirational Challenges. The current challenge is a designer's choice where Sandie (my ATCAS teammate) has chosen CAS cards.

Seattle Girl in the Rain

I love how this card came out but this is the reason I am a clean and simple stamper!!  This was the result of the SCS inspiration challenge.  We were to be inspired by Audrie's Rain Pinterest board.  This was my inspiration piece:

I had the perfect image for this challenge - Amuse Art Stamps Seattle Girl.  After several failed attempts at creating the "rain" I figured out I would have to use the masking technique.  I used Hero Arts shadow inks and some Memento ink.  I wanted the girl to look like the inspiration piece (no line art) so I stamped her with Antique Linen distress ink and water colored her with water color pencils and an aquabrush.  The little "raindrops" are from Winnie & Walter's Big Bang Confetti stamp set.

Thanks!

I created this for several challenges:

Less Is More 161 - Yellow and Green
CAS(E) This Sketch
Little Red Wagon - Spring
The Card Concept - Floral Theme - Clean and Simple
The Friday Mashup - Spring Flowers
Virginia's View - Watercoloring
The Paper Players - Spring Thank You card
CAS On Sunday - Color Me Pretty - use markers, pencils....

This was also made for the SCS Inspiration challenge and Featured Stamper Challenge.

Wow I've never made one card for so many challenges before!  I colored this Rubbernecker 4 step stamping image with Distress markers, spritzed them with water and stamped them onto Tim Holtz Watercolor paper.  The sentiment is from Amuse.
The style of this card according to the Card Concept is CAS (Clean and Simple).  Here is their definition:

  • One main image
  • Lots of open space (uncluttered)
  • Limited layers & embellishments
  • Quick & easy to recreate

Here is the CAS(E) This Sketch:

Purrfect Valentines Day

This was created for the SCS IC247 challenge - be inspired by the Bed, Bath and Beyond website and for the Less Is More challenge - one layer card and anything goes.
Here is my inspiration piece:  Cat Line Framed Drawing.  I printed the cat digi (source unknown) onto white cardstock and then stamped the sentiment which is from Simon Says Stamp.  I colored the hearts with a Real Red SU! marker and then used the Wink of Stella glitter marker over the red.

HYCCT & Inspiration Challenge

Today's card was created for both the HYCCT challenge which was to create a scene and for the Inspiration challenge on SCS.  My inspiration piece was this photo:

I used Memory Box papers for the background, stamped the Flourishes kids and trees in Versafine Onyx Black directly onto the papers and used part of the Memory Box Orchard Frame for the silhouette tree in the foreground.  The sentiment is from the Craft's Meow.

Pinterest Birdies at Sunset

The Inspiration Challenge at SCS was to create a card inspired by a photo from Audrie's Pinterest board.  I chose this photo.
I brayered white card stock with Adirondack inks and then used a bird stencil and Versafine Onyx Black ink to sponge on the birds.  I finished the scene by using a fine tip black marker to create the shadows.

SCS IC376 You are Treasured

Stef, the hostess for the SCS Inspiration Challenge asked me to make a sample for this week's challenge: IC376.  The website she picked for this week is http://www.limogesboxcollector.com/.  My inspiration piece is the Blue Butterfly on Flower (Beauchamp) box.
As soon as I saw this box I thought of this Sweet 'N Sassy stamp that I had.  I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Back ink onto white card stock.  I then did the Out of the Box Nestability technique to cut out the image in a circle.  I stamped the image again on another piece of white card stock and colored it with water color pencils and an aquabrush.  I colored the first stamped image the same way.  I cut out the butterfly and attached it by its head with glue dots and left the wing free.  Then I cut some of the flower petals and attached them on top of the original image with a stack of glue dots for the extra dimension.    The circle was sponged with PTI Harvest Gold ink and I used two kinds of Harvest Gold ribbon for the "banners".

Thank You

I created this card for several challenges:  The FTL222 on the Clean and Simple Stamping blog, the SCS IC370 - Butterfly Pillow from MacKenzie Child website, Cas-ual Fridays: CFC84 - thank you card and the PPA150 color challenge.  The Making Memories butterfly image is stamped with Raspberry Fizz ink, the PTI flourish is stamped with Memento Gray Flannel and the PTI sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I embellished the butterfly with black and silver pearls and cut the border with an EKSuccess border punch.

A Lot of Cats!

I created this quick and easy one layer card for the SCS QFTD139 and the IC363.  This is a case of Gabby's Fat Cats Unite card and my inspiration piece was the Cat Dish Towel from the Fishs Eddy site.  I used a freebie digi called A Lot of Cats - I don't remember where I got it.  This makes a great set of note cards for a cat lover!!

Black Magic Sunflowers

This card was inspired by the Sunflower Botanical Chart at the Empirical Style website which was the inspiration site for the SCS challenge this week.  The chart reminded me of the black magic technique where you stamp mostly solid images with white pigment ink and then color over the ink with colored pencils.  A white gel pen is also used for highlighting.

CFC72 - Toot Your Own Horn

Does this look a bit familiar?  This is a card that I made for the Cas-ual Fridays #72 challenge which was to create a card inspired by our blog header.  I love my blog header - it was created for me by Dina Kowel.  I also made this for the SCS IC356 challenge which was to find something on the Empirical Style website for inspiration for your card.  I picked the Domestic Cat Zoology Chart as my inspiration.  That cute cat is a new die from Poppystamps, from Memory Box and it is adhered with a foam square.  The vase is from PaperTrey's Gracious Vases set and the butterfly is from Sweet 'N Sassy's Serene Silhouettes set.
