Just a Note

This is for a few challenges:

Less Is More - Flowers

CASology - Flower

The Paper Players - Clean and Simple Florals

One-Layer Simplicity Challenge - Fabulous Florals

Fusion Card Challenge

I used the black outline flower image from Rubbernecker Stamps.  There are three more steps to this set but I decided to put to use some of the information that I learned in the Online Card Class - Watercoloring for Cardmakers.  I took a clean wet paint brush and painted water over each flower, one at a time.  I then added a pink ink (wet on wet) then a washed out red and then a undiluted red - all wet on wet.

For the Fusion challenge I concentrated on the colors - black, red and white and since there was music I used the sentiment "Just a Note".

GRUNGE!

Wow it's already time for another ATCAS challenge!  Challenge 37 is hosted by our fearless leader Kylie and she chose the code word to be: GRUNGE:

Our sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps:

Anita our guest designer joins us again this week so don't forget to stop at the ATCAS challenge blog to see what she has created along with the rest of the design team!

This was certainly a challenge for me and I searched through galleries of "grunge" cards until I felt I got the hang of making one.  I used a stamp set from Rubbernecker called Scuffs, Scraps and Stains and Hero Arts Shadow inks for the "grunge" images .  The flowers are from Stampendous and the sentiment is from another Rubbernecker set called Layered Flowers.

I chose to use these colors so I could play in the Color Me Playful Challenge:

Dry Embossing

The CAS challenge at SCS is to use dry embossing.  The challenge for me is choosing which embossing folder to use!!  The first card uses a Sizzix embossing folder that I've never used before.  I think it is really pretty.  The sentiment is from the old Mark's Finest Papers company.
The second card uses a Cuttlebug frame embossing folder.  I colored the irises stamp with Distress markers, misted it and then stamped onto the paper.  I used an aquabrush to finish water coloring it.

Thanks!

I created this for several challenges:

Less Is More 161 - Yellow and Green
CAS(E) This Sketch
Little Red Wagon - Spring
The Card Concept - Floral Theme - Clean and Simple
The Friday Mashup - Spring Flowers
Virginia's View - Watercoloring
The Paper Players - Spring Thank You card
CAS On Sunday - Color Me Pretty - use markers, pencils....

This was also made for the SCS Inspiration challenge and Featured Stamper Challenge.

Wow I've never made one card for so many challenges before!  I colored this Rubbernecker 4 step stamping image with Distress markers, spritzed them with water and stamped them onto Tim Holtz Watercolor paper.  The sentiment is from Amuse.
The style of this card according to the Card Concept is CAS (Clean and Simple).  Here is their definition:

  • One main image
  • Lots of open space (uncluttered)
  • Limited layers & embellishments
  • Quick & easy to recreate

Thank You

This card was created for the CAS challenge at SCS this week - to use red and white.  I have to make about 20 thank you notes and I still need to finish making holiday cards to send out this year.  With Hanukkah coming so early I am behind on the Christmas cards!!

HYCCT - Flowers in the Breeze

ANother card for the HYCCT challenge - this one was to send flowers.  I colored this 4 step stamp set with Tombow Markers when I was with my stamping group this summer.  I just added a bit of MME patterned paper to the one edge and mounted the panel with foam tape.
ETA: My friend Darnell is this week's Muse and she recommended that I submit this to the challenge.  I was going to make a card based on her beautiful card but haven't gotten a chance yet so I will submit this one.
Here is Darnell's lovely card:

Friendship

This was created for one of the DTGD challenges on SCS and using this week's Dynamic Duos challenge colors:

I used the blackboard technique for the sentiment panel and the flowers were created with the Cuttlebug Asterisk dies.
