More HYCCT Cards

These cards were created for two HYCCT challenges.  The first one was to use glitter on your card - the card on the left - I used a red glitter pen to color in the balloon.  The second card's challenge was black and white with a splash of a color - pick one of the colors given - I picked pink.  These were the last two days of challenges and I was a day behind so I just made the same card with different colors!
I think that cute Boynton cat would cheer anyone up!

HYCCT - Dear Friend

This card was created for a few challenges - the HYCCT challenge to honor an elder and make it vintage, the SCS CAS challenge to distress or tear paper, and the Featured Stamper at SCS.  This image is from Sweet 'N Sassy stamps and with the exception of the sentiment, it is one image.  The banner is left blank and you can choose a sentiment to stamp in there.  I lightly sponged the three colors and then stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black.  I trimmed the image with my paper cutter, distressed the edges and then matted it with black card stock.

HYCCT Make a Wish

Another card for the HYCCT challenge.  I did a watercolor wash with Twinkling H2Os on water color paper before stamping the SU! Swallowtail butterfly, PaperTrey flourish image and sentiment.  Then I cut a piece of the image into a narrow panel and adhered it to the card front.  It's very shimmery though you can't tell from the photo.

HYCCT I thank My Lucky Stars

Well I did it! I made at least one card for each HYCCT challenge over at SCS - 36 cards.  I had to catch up for the last two days of the month since life got in the way.  I will post some more of what I created over the next few days.

FBW259 - Anything With Wings

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday #259.  This week you can use anything with wings - one of our readers' favorite challenges!  Danni will be randomly selecting a participant to receive a prize if we get 50+ people playing with us.  So get out your winged things, create a card or project and link it to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.  While you are there, check out the wonderful creations from our DT!
I used the kissing technique on the butterfly wings - I inked the butterfly with Summer Sunrise ink, then inked the flourish image with Terracotta Tile ink and placed it onto the inked butterfly stamp before stamping the butterfly onto the die cut.

HYCCT - Ears To You!

One of the HYCCT challenges was to create a card with an ear or ears.  The ears represent really being listened to...something we all want!  I immediately thought of this cute SU! image and sentiment.  The bunnies were stamped in Pixie Pink and I masked off the sentiment.  Then after I added the MFT grass die cut and mounted the panel I masked off the bunnies and stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black.

HYCCT - Altered Journal

One of the HYCCT challenges was to alter a notebook or journal for a cancer patient to use.  I covered the front and back of the journal with patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket Honey Pie.In this 8x8" pad of papers were journaling papers and blocks of pictures such as the red square with the butterflies on it.  I cut them out, made a pocket with the butterfly block and put some of the journaling papers in it.

HYCCT - Wish Big and Send Flowers!

This was created for the HYCCT challenge to send flowers to a cancer patient.  I used the SCS sketch for this week.  There were so many layers to the sketch for this CAS stamper that I decided to make them all white which would make the focal panel pop.  I did an emboss resist with the flowers and sponged the panel with Distress Inks.  The white panels were all embossed with butterfly embossing folders.

HYCCT - Flowers in the Breeze

ANother card for the HYCCT challenge - this one was to send flowers.  I colored this 4 step stamp set with Tombow Markers when I was with my stamping group this summer.  I just added a bit of MME patterned paper to the one edge and mounted the panel with foam tape.
ETA: My friend Darnell is this week's Muse and she recommended that I submit this to the challenge.  I was going to make a card based on her beautiful card but haven't gotten a chance yet so I will submit this one.
Here is Darnell's lovely card:

Double Challenge Cards

These cards were created for two challenges at SCS - the HYCCT challenge which was to create a card inspired by a song by Elvis Presley and the TLC (Technique Lovers Challenge) which was Die Cut InLay technique.  My Elvis inspiration song was Blue Suede Shoes.  I selected several hues of blue cardstock and cut strips and glued them onto computer paper.  I cut it to about 5"x3.25".  I then die cut a snowflake from the striped panel, used the positive snowflake on the 4.25" square card nad the panel with the negative snowflake on the A2 size card.  I embossed the card fronts before adhering the snowflake and striped panels.

HYCCT - Bling it Up

These cards were created for the HYCCT challenge - Bling It Up.  I've had these rhinestone snowflakes forever and got them from Mike's $1 bin.  I used the Freshly Made Sketch challenge layout for these cards.

HYCCT & Inspiration Challenge

Today's card was created for both the HYCCT challenge which was to create a scene and for the Inspiration challenge on SCS.  My inspiration piece was this photo:

I used Memory Box papers for the background, stamped the Flourishes kids and trees in Versafine Onyx Black directly onto the papers and used part of the Memory Box Orchard Frame for the silhouette tree in the foreground.  The sentiment is from the Craft's Meow.

HYCCT - Thanks a Bunch

This HYCCT challenge was to make a tall card.  First thing I thought of was the SU! Pleasant Poppies stamp.  I colored this with Inktense water color pencils and an aquabrush.  The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions.

HYCCT - Friend

One of the HYCCT challenges was to make a pocket card or a card with a pocket on it and to use stars for Hope and / or the colors orange or pink.  I used the pocket image from WPlus9 A Pocketful set and some Little Yellow Bicycle paper that I got at Archivers this summer - the paper pack is gorgeous.  I paper pieced the pocket and the stars.  I cut out an extra star and put it in the little pocket.

HYCCT - Sending Sunshine

Tuesday's HYCCT challenge was to make a sun/star burst card.  I used the scraps of patterned papers that I used for the SCS color challenge this week to make this card.  I really like how this came out - there was a tutorial on how to make the rays. The pocket is from WPlus9 Pocketful stamp set.

HYCCT - Beautiful You

This card was created for the HYCCT challenge to use the colors of October - pink, yellow and green and to use something shimmery.  This is also a case of a card by Tesa, the SCS Featured Stamper this week.  It took me forever to make those banners - they were done by hand and being spatially challenged this was quite a feat for me - and I am very proud of them!  The patterned papers are from MME and the sentiment is from Verve.

HYCCT: Dream Big & HOPE

I have been keeping up with the HYCCT challenges so far on SCS.  Here are two more that I created:

This card was created using the sketch from SCS for this past week.  I used Memento markers to color directly onto the butterfly stamp, spritzed it with water and then stamped to get a watercolored look.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  I used the colors from this week's Color Throw Down 263.   The stamps are by Unity.

This card was created for a HYCCT challenge as well as for an SCS Ways To Use It challenge (use an image that starts with the first letter of our username) and the Freshly Made Sketch challenge.  Both the ribbon image and the sentiment are from Avocado Arts.

I am also submitting these two cards to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog - to use clear or rubber stamps - no digital stamps.

HYCCT - Hidden Message - Many Thanks

One of the HYCCT challenges was to make a card with a hidden message (or image) which you can uncover by opening a flap or swinging a hinged tag or panel - not just opening the card.  I saw a card submitted that I just loved - it was a Surprise Pop-Up Card.  I went to SCS and followed the tutorial to make one.  The above photo is the card as a recipient would first see it.  Below is the card after pulling the ribbon on the tag at the top of the card:

This did take me a long time to make because I am spatially challenged and had a hard time following the directions for placing the score lines but I am happy with this and will make another one.  I love the paper I used - Bo Bunny (from a few years ago).  The vase of sunflowers is an image from PaperTrey and I water colored it after using the die to cut it out of water color paper.  The sentiment is also from PaperTrey.

HYCCT Thanks

This card came together from combining a few challenges:  HYCCT to use a leaf or leaves, the SCS CAS challenge to case a card from stampingout's (Emily) gallery and a loose interpretation of the Sketch Saturday sketch.

I cased Emily's Woodgrain Songbird card.

I sponged Summer Sunrise, Harvest Gold and Spring Moss inks onto PaperTrey Stampers Select white card stock and then die cut the leaves with WPlus9 dies.  The bird is from Memory Box, the clouds are from WPlus9 and the banner is from PaperTrey.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the blue panel.

HYCCT Many Colors of Cancer

This HYCCT challenge was to pick a color of cancer to use on our card.  I selected lavender which represents all cancers.    Family members and many of my friends have been affected by many different cancers - some have survived and some haven't.
The sentiment stamps are from Avocado Arts and the ribbon stamp is from Amuse Studio.
