STAMPlorations December CAS Card Challenge

This month's STAMPloratons CAS Card Challenge has an optional color twist: GREEN.

Here is my one layer card:

I paper pieced the Coffee Cup Row - Artsy Border stamp image with Making Memories patterned paper. I love the dimension paper piecing achieves. I left off a sentiment but I was thinking it would be nice to have a set of these to use as thank you notes for holiday gifts, or to send as a holiday card with the sentiment "warm winter wishes".

I hope you will come play with us this month. Here are the challenge rules:

  • Players can link up to 3 CAS cards.
  • Players can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
  • To qualify for the prize, players must display challenge graphic and link back to the challenge post (blogs only)
  • Prizes: $15 GC for the winner (voted by the team); $5 GC to three (3) randomly picked players
Thanks for coming by and happy holidays!!

STAMPlorations CAS Card December Challenge - Anything Goes with Red and Green

Wow it is December already! Welcome to the STAMPlorations CAS Card challenge for December.
The optional color twist is red and green.  Here is my card:

I love this new border stamp call Coffee Cup Row. I haven't paper pieced in a long time and these mugs were really easy to cut out and adhere to the card front. The background of the stamp is a bit of distressed text. The sentiment is from MFT Warmest Wishes set. The patterned paper is from PaperTrey.

I hope to see you in the STAMPlorations gallery!  Thanks for coming by!

HYCCT - Happy Birthday

 Outside of card

Inside of card

I am participating in the SCS HYCCT challenges every day for the month of October.  The cards created will be sent to MD Anderson Cancer Clinic in Houston, Texas (see the blinkie on the right side of my blog) for the patients and / or their families to use.  This is the first card I created which was to create a window card with a dimensional element that can be seen through it - signifying the inner strength of cancer patients/survivors.
I used a Simon Says Stamp set and stamped the cat in the box image several times and cut out two faces, paws and tails and then stamped the image one more time on patterned paper to paper piece the box.  I used Distress markers and an aquabrush to color the kitty.  The windows were cut with a PaperTrey Take Three die and the kitties were mounted with glue behind the windows.  The sentiment is from the same set.

A Gift For You

This week's Technique Lovers Challenge at SCS is paper piecing - one of my favorite techniques.  This image was a bit challenging - the dress and the paper dolls were paper pieced.  The patterned paper is My Minds Eye - Indie Collection.  The sketch is the latest I Spy Sketch challenge but I reversed the sketch unintentionally.

SNSDC28 - Paper Piecing - Snowman Soup

This week our challenge at the Sweet 'N Sassy Digi Blog is to use paper piecing.  I am just getting used to working with digis and this is the first time I have done paper piecing with them.  I paper pieced the soup mug and the snowman's hat and scarf of the Snowman Soup Digital Image with some papers from and old DCWV Winter Mat Stack.  I printed the image three times - one on white card stock for the base image and cut out with a Nestability.  For the paper piecing I used computer paper and adhered the patterned papers with removable tape and printed the image on each paper.  The rest of the image was colored with Copic markers.  I used the current Sweet Stop Sketch challenge - SSS133 for my card.
Now it is your turn to play for a chance to win some SNSS digis!  Please go to the SNSS Digi blog for the details and while you are there please check out what the rest of the digi team created using the paper piecing technique!
