SYD Online Card Class - Day 1 Homework 2

Here is my card for the 2nd homework assignment from Day 1.  I found this to be very hard - and this method of embedding the positive die into the negative spaces of two pieces of paper was the easiest of the methods according to Debbie Hughes!!

I'm not sure which is more distressed - me or the paper!!!  I lost some itty bitty pieces but this will have to do!  The papers and die are from PaperTrey.  I mounted the patterned panel onto the card base with a piece of fun foam.

Thanks for coming by!

  2. Your card sure looks beautiful, Harriet, in spite of the difficulties it gave you. I did a half-a$$ job of the first tutorial and that's as far as I got. It's a good class though and it's always inspirational for me to see what you do for homework! Hugs, Darnell

  4. Hi Harriet, I'm taking the same class and I'm really enjoying it! I love your card, it turned out beautifully. I cheated a bit on that technique, I followed the video and got really frustrated with all those little bits so I did what Debbie said not to...lol, I butted the ends. up together but I taped the back with micropore tape and it was magical...as long as your die fits within the parameters of the tape, mine is one inch wide and I think even die a bit bigger would work it kept all the bits together even those little tiny ones and the die cut portion stayed together with the tape backing so I can use it as an embellishment....woohoo. Once I die cut I put more tape on the back and because the tape is soooo thin it doesn't add any bulk and then I popped those little pieces back in .....have fun with the rest of the class and I really enjoy your blog!
