Inspired by Blog Challenges

Great title, huh?  Well that explains how I came up with this card.  Here is what inspired me:

The Cutting Edge Challenge #3:

Crazy for CAS:  Butterflies

I used dies from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps to cut the butterflies from the scalloped banner (PaperTrey die).  I then used the same dies to cut the butterflies out of patterned papers which were adhered to another scalloped banner and then adhered to the card front.  The top banner is adhered with foam squares for the dimension.  The butterflies were embellished with pearls.

Watercolored Happy Birthday Card

This is another card that I created to submit to The Cutting Edge Challenge:

This time I cased the top left card:

Instead of the die cut window frame I used the PaperTrey Happy Birthday Panel Die cut and overlaid it on the watercolored background.  The background was created by using distress inks on an acrylic block and misted with water before stamping with the block onto watercolor paper.

ETA: I am entering this card into Teri's Moxie Fab Wonderful Words Challenge.

A New Challenge in Blogland - The Cutting Edge

I came across The Cutting Edge Challenge in Facebook:

It looked interesting so I followed the link. The first challenge is to case a card from the samples made by the DT:

You can use any dies or cutting machines to create your card.  You can see all of the details on the challenge blog.

I cased the card on the top right.  I used the first Silhouette Cameo file I purchased - it is an A2 card with the butterfly cut out.  After I stamped the sentiment and before backing the front with the patterned paper I dry embossed the front of the card.  I really love how this came out.
