STAMPlorations June CAS Card Challenge

Wow it's June already! This month's CAS Card Challenge optional color twist is MAHOGANY.

Here is my card:

I thought that this flower image from Hope Blooms looked like it had a tree in the background so I decided to use the Brick Red (looks like Mahogany when stamped) Distress marker to color the stamp. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations Pocket Blooms.  I cut a frame from some patterned paper to place around the image and sentiment then adhered the panel to a Kraft card base.

I hope you join our challenge. Here are the guidelines:
  • Players can link up to 3 CAS cards.
  • Players can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
  • To qualify for the prize, players must display challenge graphic and link back to the challenge post (blogs only)
  • Prizes: $15 GC for the winner (voted by the team); $5 GC to three (3) randomly picked players

STAMPlorations May CAS Card Challenge

April showers bring May flowers...The May STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge features the optional color twist of LILAC.

Even though I know Cherry Blossoms are pink I took the liberty of watercoloring the Framed Cherry Blossoms image with Shaded Lilac Distress Ink marker and a waterbrush:

After I stamped the image on water color paper and colored it I cut it out with a stitched rectangle die. I mounted that panel with My Favorite Things patterned paper and adhered that to a white card base.

Here are the guidelines for playing in the challenge:
  • Players can link up to 3 CAS cards.
  • Players can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
  • To qualify for the prize, players must display challenge graphic and link back to the challenge post (blogs only)
  • Prizes: $15 GC for the winner (voted by the team); $5 GC to three (3) randomly picked players

Well February flew right by! It is time for the March STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge where Anything CAS Goes and an optional color twist: CORAL PINK.

Here is my card:

I love this Sketched Rose image and it is fun to watercolor. I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black onto smooth water color paper. I used Altenew's Coral Berry ink to paint the rose and my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the leaves and stem.  The stamped tag and sentiment are from the Bloom Happy stamp set. I cut out the tag and adhered it with foam tape. Two enamel dots were added for interest.

STAMPlorations February CAS Card Challenge

Welcome to a new month of STAMPlorations challenges! This month's CAS Card Challenge has an optional color twist of CERULEAN BLUE.

I made two card samples to share:

The card on the left was created by placing the Flutterby Stencil on the smooth side of a Tim Holtz watercolor card and blending in Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink over the entire stencil. Then After removing the card stock I spritzed the inky side of the stencil with water and laid another piece of watercolor card stock (smooth side down) to create a mono-print (card on the right side). This is one of my favorite techniques to do with stencils. I cut each panel with a stitched rectangle die and mounted them on an A2 size card base. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations' Trendy Butterflies 2 stamp set. I added a few rhinestones to the butterflies.

I hope you will join us in this challenge! Here are the rules:

  • Players can link up to 3 CAS cards.
  • Players can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
  • To qualify for the prize, players must display challenge graphic and link back to the challenge post (blogs only)
  • Prizes: $15 GC for the winner (voted by the team); $5 GC to three (3) randomly picked players

STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge January 2019

Welcome to 2019! Welcome to a new year of STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenges! We are starting off this year with our Anything Goes with a color option of BURGUNDY.

Here is my card using STAMPlorations Bloontangle ATC #3 image:

I painted the blooms with Altenew's watercolor brush marker and then covered the blooms with sparkle from the Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pens. I thought this would make a great holiday "thank you" note card. It was quick and easy to make multiples of. I like just highlighting parts of a stamped image.

I hope you join us this month. Here are the rules:

  • Players can link up to 3 CAS cards.
  • Players can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are OK

STAMPlorations December CAS Card Challenge

This month's STAMPloratons CAS Card Challenge has an optional color twist: GREEN.

Here is my one layer card:

I paper pieced the Coffee Cup Row - Artsy Border stamp image with Making Memories patterned paper. I love the dimension paper piecing achieves. I left off a sentiment but I was thinking it would be nice to have a set of these to use as thank you notes for holiday gifts, or to send as a holiday card with the sentiment "warm winter wishes".

I hope you will come play with us this month. Here are the challenge rules:

  • Players can link up to 3 CAS cards.
  • Players can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
  • To qualify for the prize, players must display challenge graphic and link back to the challenge post (blogs only)
  • Prizes: $15 GC for the winner (voted by the team); $5 GC to three (3) randomly picked players
Thanks for coming by and happy holidays!!

STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge - RAINBOW

A new month and a new STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge. This month's optional color twist is: RAINBOW.

I am still creating my holiday cards so I thought I'd use Christmas tree lights (rhinestones) for my rainbow color twist:

I used the STAMPlorations Christmas Icons - Christmas Tree #2 - CUTplorations to cut out the Christmas tree. I then cut out that panel with a stitched rectangle die. The panel was adhered with foam tape. Then I applied self sticking rhinestones.

Here's a view looking straight on so you can better see the colors of the rhinestones:

I hope you will play with us this month. Here are the rules for the challenge:
  • Players can link up to 3 CAS cards.
  • Players can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
  • To qualify for the prize, players must display challenge graphic and link back to the challenge post (blogs only)

STAMPlorations is Celebrating Spring: Things With Wings

This month all the challenges over on the STAMPlorations Blog has a theme of Things with Wings.  While the challenges will have separate linkies, you can enter 1 card multiple times!

Create a Winged - Themed CAS card:

I used my favorite ARTplorations Stencil Flutterby as a stamp to create my card. Using gelatos I spread the color onto the stencil, spritzed with water and stamped it onto watercolor paper. I "smooshed" the color around before removing the stencil. To embellish the main butterfly I added some black rhinestones.

I hope you join us in one or more of the challenges this month. Also, all products in the Things with Wings category at STAMPlorations are 15% off - no coupon code needed!

Thanks for fluttering by!!

STAMPlorations November CAS Card Challenge - Mid Month Reminder

There is still time to play in the STAMPlorations November CAS Card Challenge. Here is another card sample that I created:

This is a one layer card. I used the Leaf Print ARTplorations stencil and masked off the card front on both sides to create a narrow panel. I used some Distress inks and an ink blending tool to color in the stencil. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations Trendy Feathers (retired). I added a little 3D butterfly sticker from Little B. I also colored over the leaves with a clear Wink of Stella pen but you can't really see that in this photo.

STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge - Mid Month Reminder

This is a reminder post for the STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge and my last post as a guest designer on this team. Thank you Shery for this opportunity - you and your designers rock and I have enjoyed getting to know everyone better!

Here is my second card for the challenge (it may be familiar to some since I also designed it to use on the CAS Watercolor Card challenge this month which is emboss resist):

I used the STAMPlorations the image from Framed: Peace, Love, Joy stamp set and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I then painted over the flower part with red Gamsai Tambi watercolors. The sentiment is from WPlus9 and I stamped it with green ink from MFT.  I used a Pretty Pink Posh stitched tag die to cut out the image and adhered it to an embossed card base with foam tape.

There is still lots of time to play in this challenge and I hope to see your submission in the gallery!

Thanks for stopping by!
