Love You Mean It!

Today (Wednesday) Bruce and I are celebrating our 35th anniversary! The time just flew by! I wanted to play in some challenges and also make him an anniversary card so I came up with this one. The SCS color challenge is celebrating their 600th challenge and we were given 5 color combinations to choose from so I chose the Coral, Cantaloupe and Saffron combination. I also want to play in the new challenge Where Creativity Meets C9 - Celebration theme:

I really love the products from Concord & 9th. I just got a package of their Happy Hues card packs to try out. They are pre-printed 100lb A2 cards that look like you watercolored them. One of the color combos in this pack had the exact colors for the SCS challenge. I used the C&9th By Your Side die to cut the birds from kraft and black card stocks, layered them for dimension and so that a bit of black would show.  Then I finished it off with a sentiment from C&9th Love You Mean It set.

Give Thanks

I finally got some time to stamp tonight! It's been a while! I created this for the SCS CAS challenge - one layer card with a nature theme and for the Paper Players Challenge #312:

I am submitting this to Simon Says Stamp challenge - Stamp It.

This is actually a case of Lin's card here.

My card is one layer - I masked off the sentiment area with tape and then stamped the 2 step leaves with distress inks. I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI to ensure that I got a good impression since I was stamping on watercolor paper. I embellished the card with a few sequins.

Dare to Get Dirty at SCS

It's that time of year, my favorite week at Splitcoaststampers (SCS), Dare to Get Dirty. Everyday for a week there are several challenges created by the Dirty Dozen and Alumna for the SCS Fan Club members to play in. There are prizes and lots of fun to be had. I am not hosting any challenges but I have made samples for many of them. Below are the cards I created for 2 of today's challenges:

Being Kind is Classy

I absolutely love this flower by Concord & 9th! When I saw the colors for the Colour Q Challenge I knew exactly which flower I'd use. I stamped the flower with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I then watercolored it with Abandoned Coral distress ink and a paint brush (wet on wet technique). The sentiment is from another Concord & 9th set. I used a strip of DCWV gold foil cardstock for an accent.
I am submitting this to the ATCAS Challenge,  ColourQ Challenge and to Simon Says Stamp.

Mom

I created this card for several challenges - a bit too late for Mother's day though. I'll save it for my mom's birthday. I used a Concord & 9th Bouquet die and cut it from a panel of white card stock. I colored the flowers and stem with carious inks and returned the die cut back into the panel. I finished it off with a large banner. The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter.
I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Less Is More Week #275 - Pastel Colors
The Paper Players #294 - Color Challenge
AAA Cards - Inlaid Dies
Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge - Inlaid Dies
Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies Challenge
