Mariposa and Lace

Today's SCS Ways To Use It challenge was to use lace.  I followed this sketch from Mercy Kerin to make this card.  I used patterned paper from the DCWV Mariposa Stack to make this card.  No stamping today.  The corners were made with a Cuttlebug die.

Flutter By Wednesday

I have two cards for Flutter By Wednesday this week!  This is an open week so all that is required is a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your project.  If you decide to play,  link your creation directly to Mr Linky on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.

The first card was made using the colors for the SCS Color Challenge this week and for the Teapot Tuesday challenge.  I used my scraps of patterned paper in the colors of the Olympic logo for this design.  The sentiment is from PaperTrey's Tiny Treats: Valentines.

This next card was made using this week's sketch challenge on SCS - SC269.  Again I used scraps that I had left over from a card I made last week.  I used PaperTrey's Turn a New Leaf and Butterfly Dreams stamp sets.  The patterned papers are from DCWV Mariposa stack.  To make the butterfy, I used the PaperTrey die and cut the orange patterned paper with it.  I then stamped the butterfly image onto the die cut with Versafine Onyx Black.  I finished it off with some Amuse Twinkler stickers.

Inspired by Lark

This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge had us
going to the Lark website.  I spent quite a while going through this site and found lots of inspiration. I settled on the two pieces.

This first card was inspired by the sweet handmade bunny coasters.  I used the PaperTrey Take Three: Spring stamp set.

The second card was inspired by these vintage wallpaper coasters.  I based my card on the top left coaster.  I used two stamps in the Hero Arts Peeking Posies set sinc ehtey looked similar to the flowers on the coaster.  I water colored the flowers with SU! markers and an aquabrush.  Then I cut the card with my largest circle Nestability to represent the shape of the coaster.

Orange Butterfly Dreams

I received my PaperTrey order today and had to ink up the Butterfly Dreams set.  I absolutely LOVE this set - the BF's are just gorgeous!  The die works like a Spellbinder's die and is just a beautiful shape.
I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch #56 for the layout and focused on orange papers for the SCS WT258 challenge - to use Orange.  I picked my papers from the DCWV Mariposa paper stack and Basic Grey Ambrosia paper pad.  I cut the butterflies out of two of the papers and stamped them with the open butterfly image in Versafine Onyx Black.  I popped up each butterfly with foam tape and added pearls to the bodies.

I Heart Flutter By Wednesday!

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday (FBW)!  This week's challenge is to use hearts with your butterfly, fairy or angel.  And we are being sponsored by Susana's Custom Art and Card Design!  For a chance to win some blog candy you must link your creation using hearts and a butterfly, fairy or angel directly to Mr Linky on the Flutter By Wednesday blog before Monday, Feb. 22 at midnight!  The winner will be announced on the FBW blog next Wednesday, Feb 24. Can't wait to see what you create!

Here is my card for today's challenge.  I used the SCS SC268 challenge for this card and left off a layer.  I couldn't wait to ink up my Flutterby Huggabugg from Stampingbella - isn't she cute?!?  I colored her with Koh-i-noor colored pencils and Baby Oil and then colored her wings with a silver Spica glitter pen and Stardust Stickles.  The bottom layer was embossed with the Hearts Cuttlebug embossing folder.

CAS Challenge - Wishing for Spring

These three cards were made for the SCS CAS54 challenge - create a card with a Spring theme.  The first one uses Basic Grey Lily Kate patterned paper - it just looks like spring to me.  The second one was made using a Penny Black sticker.  I think PB stickers are so elegant.  And the third card, which I water colored,  is a 4.25" square card with an image that to me just screams SPRING!  I hope you like them!

Signs of Spring

Here in Northern California we are seeing signs of spring - our state flower, the Golden Poppy, is blooming now.  I made this card this weekend for the SCS Inspiration challenge.  We were to look through Geninne's Art Store.  I picked the piece called Amapolas for my inspiration.  I inked up my Hero Arts Poppies Background with 2 colors of blue Versamagic chalk ink and stamped it on PaperTrey white card stock.  I colored in the poppies with SU! Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive markers.  I added some Black Amuse Twinklers to the centers of the poppies.  The panel is attached to PaperTrey Orange Zest card stock with foam tape.

This is the second card I made for the inspiration challenge.  I used the Fly print from the art store.  The bird is from Crafty Secrets.  I stamped the bird with Memento Rich Cocoa onto PaperTrey white card stock.  I colored the bird with Copic markers and then colored over the bird with a Versamarker and clear embossed it.  I then brayered over the bird using SU! Ballet Blue.  I used a white gel pen to make the snow (or stars possibly?) like the print .  I finished it off by mounting the stamped panel on a piece of white card stock and then onto Orange Zest card stock and added three blue rhinestones.

FTL 78 Sympathy Card

I made this card, using the FTL 78 sketch, for one of our SCS stamper friends, Shannan Teubner, who lost her husband unexpectedly last weekend.   I like this clean and uncluttered design for a sympathy card.  The flower was stamped twice, one was cut out with a Nestability.  I cut only the middle portion of the second image and popped it up with foam tape on the first image for dimension.  I also stamped and cut out the leaf.  I chose these colors for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply 126- to use purple and green.

Love, Love , Love Flutter By Wednesdays!!

Love - that is what our Flutter By Wednesday theme is!  Make a card or project with Love as the theme and be sure to include a butterfly, fairy or angel.  Then directly link your creation to Mr Linky on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.  While you're there don't forget to check out the creations the other Flutterbies - the links to their blogs are on the side bar.
I just got this Love definition image from Auntie Annie's at the CHA Super Show and thought it would be perfect for today's theme.  I cased this card by Kristie Lee.  I used PaperTrey's Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, Berry Sorbet and Fresh Snow colors.  I didn't have a shadow rectangle stamp so I traced a Nestability and then placed Post It notes around the edges and sponged the Aqua Mist ink inside.

PaperTrey Paint By Number Sketch Challenge

What a cool challenge.  Here are Nicole's instructions:
To make things fun and interesting, we are assigning color palettes based on the first letter of your online username.  The colors in your palette do not have to be used with any particular letter on the sketch, you can mix them up however you like, but you HAVE to use ALL of the colors in your assigned palette!
So here is the sketch:
And here is my color assignment:

And here is my card:

I found these colors to be very challenging.  I love this sketch and will use it again!

Inspired by Erte

Today's SCS Inspiration Challenge was very challenging - but at the same time very awesome!  Check out the pictures in this gallery.  I looked through every picture and was just in awe.  I ended up using the Rainbow in Blossom as my inspiration piece.  I used an image from an ISC stamp set and colored it in with SU! markers using the colors from the inspiration piece.  This was actually my second attempt - I threw the first one away!!  I really like this one though!

Thank You Card

I made this card using SCS CC256 and followed a sketch from a sample in the SU! Occasions Mini. I needed a Thank You card to give to my neighbor - to make a long story short, they helped us find our gray cat that had gotten out of the house at the end of October. They had been feeding her for the last month or so and finally caught her and took her to the vet and had the microchip read. It was our gray cat Stormy! So we are giving them a gift card to PetCo in this card.
The image is from a new stamp set called Mary's Friends by Woodwareusa.com. This company was selling these awesome stamp sets at the CHA Super Show. I water colored the image with markers, ink pads and an aquabrush.

Supplies: Stamps - Mary's Friends (Woodwareusa), PaperTrey (sentiment); Ink - PaperTrey Smokey Shadow, Scarlet Jewel; paper - PaperTrey, Basic Grey; Misc - Nestabilities, SU! Markers, Ribbon, Aquabrush, Foam Tape

I made this card using this week's CAS52 sketch challenge.  The Basic Grey Ambrosia paper was perfect for this sketch and for FBW!  The butterflies were made with my MS Butterfly punch and I adorned them with some rhinestones.  The sentiment is from last year's PaperTrey Anniversary set.
