FBW261 - Hello!

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday 261.  Our challenge this week is an open one - just remember to use a butterfly or a fairy on your card.
I used the Hero Arts butterfly image with the companion Sizzix Framelit die directly on MME patterned paper.  I created a handmade banner and stamped the sentiment from MME with Versafine Onyx Black onto the banner.  I added the rhinestones to finish it off.
Please go to the Flutter By Wednesday blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the FBW team!

FBW260 Color Challenge - Brown; CASology Cue Card - Brown

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday 260.  This week's challenge is to use the color brown along with your butterfly or fairy.  This is actually the second card I made.  I wasn't crazy about the first one.  Using brown was quite a challenge for me - but that's what this is all about, right?
Remember if there are 50+ entries in this week's challenge Danni will be giving away a prize - so you might as well create a card and link it yo the Flutter By Wednesday blog.
I used three shades of brown markers and colored directly onto the dogwood image and butterfly image before stamping.  I used vanilla card stock instead of white.
This week at CASology Challenge blog the cue card is BROWN!  So I am submitting this card for that challenge and to Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes.

FBW259 - Anything With Wings

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday #259.  This week you can use anything with wings - one of our readers' favorite challenges!  Danni will be randomly selecting a participant to receive a prize if we get 50+ people playing with us.  So get out your winged things, create a card or project and link it to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.  While you are there, check out the wonderful creations from our DT!
I used the kissing technique on the butterfly wings - I inked the butterfly with Summer Sunrise ink, then inked the flourish image with Terracotta Tile ink and placed it onto the inked butterfly stamp before stamping the butterfly onto the die cut.

FBW258 - Any Color But Orange and Black

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday #258.  This week our challenge is to use any colors but orange and black.  You also need to include a butterfly or a fairy of course!  I was a bit stumped at first because I wasn't sure whether using black ink for line art was acceptable.  I avoided the question and went with die cuts!!  I used the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch for my layout:

So now it is your turn to play.  Link up your creation following the challenge guidelines to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday challenge blog.  As always, if there are 100+ entries a winner will be randomly selected to win a prize.

FBW257 - A Sketch

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday #257!  This week we have a sketch created by our team member Kathy (I love her sketches).  We also have some new design team members so please go to the Flutter By Wednesday challenge blog to meet them.

Here is the sketch:
As you can see I rotated it 90 degrees to the right.  I used Washi Tape for some of the stripes which was a HYCCT challenge this past Sunday.  I had the butterfly die cut and stamped already so I just added the pearls and adhered it to the card with a foam square.

Don't forget when you create your card following this sketch to include a butterfly or a fairy on it. Also, just a reminder, that if we get 100+ entries, Danni will be giving a prize to the randomly selected participant!

FBW256 - Recipe Challenge

Welcome back to another Flutter By Wednesday challenge!  This week we have a recipe challenge: 3 patterned papers, 3 embellishments and sparkle!  Don't forget to use a butterfly or a fairy too!  If there are more than 100 entries Danni will be picking a random winner to receive a prize so don't forget to link your card up to the Flutter By Wednesday blog!  There is a lot of inspiration there from the DT so check the samples out!
I used the CAS(E) This Sketch for my layout.  The 3 patterned papers are from MME and I used sequins, rhinestones and pearls as my three embellishments.  The sparkle comes with the sequins and rhinestones. The butterflies are die cuts from PaperTrey Butterfly Dreams die and the sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.  I enjoyed being challenged by this recipe to keep my card CAS!

FBW252 - Autumn Colors

Welcome to FBW252 - Autumn Colors.  I love the Fall with all of the gorgeous colors, crisp blue skies and cool air!  I colored the dogwood blossoms with Memento markers and stamped them onto white card stock.  The butterfly was inked with a fall color spectrum Kalaidacolor pad and cut out with the companion Sizzix framelit.  I then popped up the butterfly on a foam square.
So now it's your turn to create a project with autumn colors and don't forget to use a butterfly or fairy!  Then go to the Flutter By Wednesday challenge blog and upload your creation.  Don't forget to check out all of the inspiration there from the rest of the DT!

Danni's BD Flutter By Hop - Day 2

Today is the second day of fluttery hops to celebrate Danni’s (owner/creator of FBW) birthday! Yesterday was the friends hop--you fluttered along didn’t you? If not, be sure to visit the Flutter By Wednesday Blog for all the information!! Today is the Flutter By Team’s turn to inspire you!!

You should have fluttered here from Denice's blog! if not--start at the beginning of the hop at the Flutter By Wednesday Blog.

Be sure to leave comments at each stop that you flutter to as there are some surprises hidden! You have until September 9th, 2013 at midnight CST to flutter along!

We hope that you’ll also join in this week’s challenge at Flutter By Wednesday which is anything goes with a butterfly or fairy! A little butterfly told us that if the challenge gets over 100 entries there will be a prize!!

Here’s my project for today:

I used the colors from this week's SCS color challenge and the Monday Lunchtime Sketch TSSC278. This week's SCS CAS challenge was to use a stencil. I used a Crafters Workshop dotted stencil with three colors of blue Distress Inks and then cut out the banner. The butterfly is from Verve, inked with the same 3 blue inks and cut with a circle Nestability. The sentiment from layers of Color was stamped onto a banner die cut from Spellbinders.
Now you should hop on to Jenee's blog! Happy Fluttering!

Thanks for coming by!

FBW250 - Shaped Cards And DD67

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday 250!!  This week's challenge is to create a shaped card - and to include a butterfly or fairy.  Wait until you see what the FBW DT created over at the FBW challenge blog!
I used my Spellbinders Butterfly Nestabilities to create this Easel card.  I followed the directions on Splitcoast Stampers using a Butterfly Die instead of a rectangle.  The card base was cut from a 4" square folded card.  All papers are from PaperTrey.
Here is a front view:

And here is a view with the card folded and ready to be mailed:

I also created this to submit to the Dynamic Duos challenge:

Don't forget to go to the FBW challenge blog to upload your shaped card!

FBW249 Emboss It!

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday 249.  This week our challenge is to use embossing - dry or wet and don't forget to include a butterfly or fairy!  I used Post-it notes to mask off the card front leaving the panel down the left side open.  I stamped the Hero Arts butterfly with Versamark and then embossed them with clear embossing powder.  With the Post-It notes still on the front I used my fingers and rubbed and blended gelatos over the butterflies.  I stamped the Unity sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black after removing the Post-It notes.
Go to the Flutter By Wednesday blog for more inspiration and to link up your creation!

We're Back!!! FBW247 - Any Winged Creature

Welcome back to Flutter By Wednesday challenge!!   I am so excited to get back to fluttering!  I hope everyone is ready to start playing with the FBW DT after a month off!  This challenge is one of our favorites - any winged creature.  And our sponsor for this challenge is Inky Impressions.  One lucky player will win a $10 gift certificate to Inky Impressions!

My silhouette image is from Layers Of Color.  After stamping her I cut out part of the wings to let them hang off the card front.  I made this card for FBW, for one of the Dare To Get Dirty challenges at SCS and for this week's CAS challenge at SCS which was to be inspired by the lyrics of a song.  That is why there are shapes of embossed music under the image panel.

FBW246 - Happy Summer!

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday 246!  Our theme this week is SUMMER! This is our last challenge until August 7th.  We are taking a bit of a summer break but I'm sure I will have some butterfly posts between now and then!
This was a real challenge for me - trying to figure out how to incorporate butterflies with a summer theme.  Then I had the vision of butterflies flying out of this bicycle basket.  I just found the sun and sentiment stamp set at Michaels - in the $1.50 bin and I thought it was perfect to go with the scene.  The patterned papers are from MME Sunny pack.  The cloud dies are PaperTrey and the little butterflies are from a MS punch.  The bike image is from Hot Off The Press.

FBW245 - A Sketch

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday.  This week we have a sketch by our DT member Kathy:

I hope you play along with us using this fabulous sketch and if you do please remember to include a butterfly or a fairy.  Then go to the FBW blog to link it up and check out the rest of the FBW DT's creations!

I used the colors from the Just Us Girls (JUGS) challenge 193:

Aqua, Harvest Gold, Kraft and White.

I just got the Butterfly Wishes stamp and die set from Clearly Besotted and used the small butterflies.  The sentiment also from the set was stamped with Versamark and embossed with detail white embossing powder.  I used a Darice border embossing folder on the aqua panel and an MFT border die for the scalloped border.  I finished off the card with just a little bling.

FBW244 CAS

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday 244.  This week's challenge is one of my favorites - Clean and Simple (CAS) - just remember to include a butterfly or fairy on your card.  Check out what the DT created on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.  You will find InLinkz to upload your CAS creation there also.
This card is a case of a card that I saw on Pinterest.  I used a Cuttlebug Border Embossing Folder across the top panel.  I stamped a scrap of white card stock with a gingham pattern image with Harvest Gold ink and then cut it out with my Butterfly Dreams die from PaperTrey.  The gingham square image is also from PaperTrey.  I stamped the sentiment from Flourishes in Hero Arts Charcoal Shadow ink and embellished the butterfly with some pearls.  The butterfly is adhered with a foam square and the top panel is adhered with foam tape.

I am submitting this to the CASology challenge - Cue word is YELLOW:

and to Addicted to Stamps and More - the challenge is CAS!

FBW243 Perfect Just the Way You Are

Wow it is Wednesday already!  Time for a new Flutter By Wednesday challenge.  This week we have an open challenge - just remember to include a butterfly or a fairy.  Also please take time to read all of the rules or challenge criteria and follow them - we have been seeing several posts that don't follow the rules and they have to be deleted.  We are being sponsored by 2 Cute Ink:
Please check the Flutter By Wednesday blog for details of the challenge and the prize our sponsor is offering.
I used Caterpillar Hugs from 2 Cute Ink.  I printed it onto watercolor paper and used distress inks a nd an aquabrush to color in the image.  I framed it with a frame image from PaperTrey ink and added the sentiment from My Minds Eye (MME).  I then colored in the grass and sky with Copic markers.  I cut it out and adhered the panel to a Kraft card base.
