Danni's BD Flutter By Hop - Day 2

Today is the second day of fluttery hops to celebrate Danni’s (owner/creator of FBW) birthday! Yesterday was the friends hop--you fluttered along didn’t you? If not, be sure to visit the Flutter By Wednesday Blog for all the information!! Today is the Flutter By Team’s turn to inspire you!!

You should have fluttered here from Denice's blog! if not--start at the beginning of the hop at the Flutter By Wednesday Blog.

Be sure to leave comments at each stop that you flutter to as there are some surprises hidden! You have until September 9th, 2013 at midnight CST to flutter along!

We hope that you’ll also join in this week’s challenge at Flutter By Wednesday which is anything goes with a butterfly or fairy! A little butterfly told us that if the challenge gets over 100 entries there will be a prize!!

Here’s my project for today:

I used the colors from this week's SCS color challenge and the Monday Lunchtime Sketch TSSC278. This week's SCS CAS challenge was to use a stencil. I used a Crafters Workshop dotted stencil with three colors of blue Distress Inks and then cut out the banner. The butterfly is from Verve, inked with the same 3 blue inks and cut with a circle Nestability. The sentiment from layers of Color was stamped onto a banner die cut from Spellbinders.
Now you should hop on to Jenee's blog! Happy Fluttering!

ATCAS #21 MUSIC

Welcome to this week's ATCAS challenge.  I am hosting this challenge and I chose the code word: MUSIC.

We have a wonderful sponsor:  The Paper Nest Dolls

Please head over to the ATCAS challenge blog to see the awesome samples from the rest of the design team and to upload your Clean and Simple MUSIC card.

The fairy silhouette is an image from Layers of Color.  I embossed some white card stock with the Cuttlebug Allegro embossing folder and cut out a circle and a square with my Nestabilities.  I made the A2 card a bit narrower than normal so I could have the wings extend past the card and still fit in an envelope.

We're Back!!! FBW247 - Any Winged Creature

Welcome back to Flutter By Wednesday challenge!!   I am so excited to get back to fluttering!  I hope everyone is ready to start playing with the FBW DT after a month off!  This challenge is one of our favorites - any winged creature.  And our sponsor for this challenge is Inky Impressions.  One lucky player will win a $10 gift certificate to Inky Impressions!

My silhouette image is from Layers Of Color.  After stamping her I cut out part of the wings to let them hang off the card front.  I made this card for FBW, for one of the Dare To Get Dirty challenges at SCS and for this week's CAS challenge at SCS which was to be inspired by the lyrics of a song.  That is why there are shapes of embossed music under the image panel.

Let Your Dreams Soar

I created this for the SCS color challenge for this week - lovely soft colors - Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand and Soft Sky.  I cased this card that I saw on Pinterest.  I used the Memory Box solid butterfly die to cut out 3 butterflies from the top panel of cardstock. I used the intricate companion butterfly die to cut the butterflies in the challenge colors. After stamping the sentiment (Layers of Color) on the top panel I lined the back of the top panel with foam tape and adhered it to the front of the card. I cut slivers of foam squares for the backs of the butterfly bodies and then placed them inside the solid cuts. I embellished them with rhinestones of the same color of the card stock. I hope you can see the depth this creates.

FBW211 - Sketch Time!

I love sketch challenges and this week for our Flutter By Wednesday 211 challenge we were provided a sketch by our team mate Kathy!  Here is the sketch:
For more inspiration check out what the other Flutterby's created using this sketch on the FBW blog.  Use this sketch to create your project and remember to include a butterfly or fairy on it and then link it directly to Mr Linky on the FBW blog!

The strips of paper that I used are from the DCWV Once Upon a Time stack.  I gold embossed the fairy from Layers of Color's set Fairy Wishes, cut it out with a Nestability and matted it with gold paper cut with a scalloped Nestability.  I then distressed the image circle with Distress ink and a blending tool.  I added the gold ribbon and bow to finish it off.

Let Your Dreams Soar

I was stalking the SCS sketch challenge thread but didn't see any post.  I searched the gallery for the keyword SC387 and found three cards posted so I took a chance and followed their samples.  This is my take on the sketch.  I also used the colors from CR84FN55:

I used the Cheery Lynn Fancy Flourish die and two Memory Box dies to make the butterfly.  The sentiment is from Layers of Color Butterfly Wishes set.

Imagine

This is the card I created for the SCS sketch challenge - SC384 - using the colors from this week's Color Throw Down - CTD191:
I sponged on a little of each of these colors then stamped the silhouette image with Versafine Onyx Black.  The corners were cut with a Cuttlebug Decorative Corner die and then the image panel was matted on black card stock.  The white panels were embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.  I added turquoise rhinestones to the corners for a little bit of bling.

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday190.  Today we have a popular challenge - Anything with Wings!  Here 's your chance to use dragonflies, birds, etc!!  I stuck with butterflies (I LOVE them)!  This is a collage stamp from Layers of Color.  I used the SCS sketch 372 for this week as well as the color challenge CC362 for my card.
Supplies: Stamps - Layers of Color; Paper - Mark's Finest Papers; Ink - Versafine Onyx Black, Tea Dye Distress Ink, Bashful Blue, Night of Navy; Misc - Ink Blending Tool

Here are two other cards I made using this week's SCS CAS157 sketch and the SCS Technique Lovers Challenge - to use the Wrinkle Free Distress technique:

Flutter By Wednesday #187 - Embossing

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday #187.  Our challenge this week is to use embossing - any kind - on your project.  Don't forget to include a butterfly, fairy or an angel and then directly link it to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog!  I used the SCS369 sketch and the image and sentiment are from Layers of Color.  I used a Craft Concepts butterfly embossing folder on the panels.
