ATCAS 41

Time for another ATCAS challenge.  This challenge is hosted by the fabulous Loll and she has chosen the code word: SUN.

Our sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps:

And we have Karen (snippets-karen.blogspot.ca) joining us once again as Guest Designer.  Check out her amazing "Sun" card on the ATCAS Challenge blog as well as the rest of the DT's creations!

My focal point is a stamp by Inkadinkado which I embossed with clear embossing powder.  I watercolored the image and used a Nestability to cut it out.  The yellow cardstock was embossed with a Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder and mounted on the card front with foam tape.

FBW217

Sorry for the late post!  I feel like I am behind in everything!  This month the Flutter By Wednesday challenges will all be open challenges - just remember to include a butterfly or a fairy. This week's challenge is sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads.  Di's is offering a $10 voucher as a prize so be sure to link your project up directly to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.  While you are there check out the inspiration from some of the FBW DT members!
I created a quick card for today - under 5 minutes!  I covered the kraft card front with some patterned paper from the DCWV Mariposa stack and stamped the sentiment directly onto the paper.  Done!

FBW215 Sketch Challenge!

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday 215.  This week we have an awesome sketch from our DT member Kathy:
Just use this sketch as inspiration and be sure to include a butterfly or a fairy and link it directly to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.  Check out the FBW blog for all the beautiful samples from the DT too!

I used patterned paper from PaperTrey Ink and the Stampendous butterfly is watercolored with Perfect Plum ink and an aquabrush.  I colored the wings edges with Frosted Lace Stickles and added some rhinestones.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

I hope all of my American readers have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Thanks for coming by!

Black Magic Sunflowers

This card was inspired by the Sunflower Botanical Chart at the Empirical Style website which was the inspiration site for the SCS challenge this week.  The chart reminded me of the black magic technique where you stamp mostly solid images with white pigment ink and then color over the ink with colored pencils.  A white gel pen is also used for highlighting.

Ink Blended Scene

I created this for the SCS color challenge for this week:  Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point. This is a case of a card that I saw on Pinterest.  I used the different ink colors with an ink blending tool and Post-It Notes.  The wildflowers in the foreground are images from Inkadinkado.
I am submitting this to OLW101 - Feeling Blue.
Edited to add: The card I saw on Pinterest was from Heather T and can be seen here on her blog.

Welcome Back Flutter By Wednesday!!

Today Flutter By Wednesday is shedding its cocoon and fluttering with a new team of flutterbies!
We're celebrating the return of Flutter By Wednesday's with a fabulous blog hop by the amazing new Flutter By Team!

The challenge is everyone's favorite--OPEN--anything goes with a butterfly or fairy!!
If you came from Jenée's blog you're on the right path for our FBW#201 blog hop.  If not, you might want to start at the beginning at the Flutter By Wednesday blog.

I used some images from Inkadinkado which I stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with detailed white embossing powder.  Then I used two colors of Distress Inks and a blending tool to sponge over the embossed images.  The sentiment is from Unity and the butterfly was cut with the PaperTrey Take Flight die and embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  The tag is from Spellbinders.

Next on the hop is Jan's blog and in case you get lost or there is a broken link here is the list of blogs in today's hop:

More Fun Casing Heather T.

I am still having fun casing Heather T's cards from her SCS gallery!  Here are two more that I did this week using the SCS color challenge:

The first one is using masking and sponging techniques and the second uses an inchie stamp on inchie squares (by Inchie Arts).

Imagine

This is the card I created for the SCS sketch challenge - SC384 - using the colors from this week's Color Throw Down - CTD191:
I sponged on a little of each of these colors then stamped the silhouette image with Versafine Onyx Black.  The corners were cut with a Cuttlebug Decorative Corner die and then the image panel was matted on black card stock.  The white panels were embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.  I added turquoise rhinestones to the corners for a little bit of bling.

Ways to Use Die Cuts

The SCS CAS152 challenge is ways to use die cuts.  I love this Memory Box Small Madison Window die.  I stamped the image from Mark's Finest Papers A Trip to Lancaster on the card front in a masked area so that it wouldn't show outside of the window.  Then I attached the window with foam tape.  I embossed around the window to make it look like paneling.

Next I created a card using the negative of a heart die cut and the positive of the flourish that was a part of the heart die.  This die is from BossKuts.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

Two Quick Challenge Cards

I made two quick CAS cards tonight for some challenges. This first one is for the QFTD67 this week on SCS - case a card from Nancy's (nwilliams6) gallery.

This is what I came up with.  I let the DCWV Mariposa paper do all the work as Nancy did in hers.  I just stamped the sentiment and mounted the dp onto Kraft card stock.
The second card is for three challenges:  Susan (LateBlossom's) One Layer Wednesday#60, The Color Throwdown #148 and for last week's QFTD66 case a card from Marie's (momof5sons) gallery

OLW16 Stamp a Scene

These cards were created for Susan's challenge One Layer Wednesday - to stamp a scene.  I think I'm a bit off on my card creating today but oh well, it is what it is.  The first card is my 4th attempt to create what I had in my head!  I thought the image was bigger than it is and this is a 4.25 square card!
I went with the 1/3rd principle but it sure looks unbalanced to me.  First I stamped the silhouette image with Versafine Onyx Black and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I used Taylored Expressions Cloud background with Memento Summer Sky ink after masking the bottom with a post-it note.  I sponged in the grass, colored in a bit of the sun (it needed something else!!) and then stamped the sentiment.  I probably should have stamped the sentiment a little higher in the blue sky part - maybe that is what would make it look more balanced.
This next one was much easier!  This is one image from Inkadinkado.  I stamped it and colored it in with SU! markers.  Easy one!

Supplies: Stamps - Flourishes, Inkadinkado, Taylored Expressions; Ink - Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black, Summer Sky, Cottage Ivy; Misc - SU! markers, sponge, clear EP

DTGD and QFTD - Sallie

I created this card last week for the SCS Queen for the Day (QFTD) which was Sallie.  I cased Sallie's In My Thoughts card.  This also was for a DTGD challenge - to embrace white space.
I brayered the background with Adirondack inks and then stamped the Inkadinkado swirled butterfly.  I placed a Cuttlebug decorative corner at the bottom right.
I hope you stop by tomorrow, Friday, July 23rd at 7:30 PM CST (5:30 PM  PST) - it is the Clean and Simple Stamping blog's 100th Fall to Layout and we have invited special stampers to join us in a blog hop.  If you are a fan of the CAS style you'll surely love this blog hop!!
Thanks for coming by!
Supplies: Stamps - Inkadinkado, PaperTrey (sentiment(; Paper - PaperTrey; Ink - Adirondack, Versafine Onyx Black; Misc - Brayer, Cuttlebug corner die.

Thank You - Flutter By Wednesday

Welcome to the last Flutter By Wednesday (FBW) until July - we are taking the month of June off from the challenges.  This is an open week - you just need to include a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your new creation and link it directly to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.  While you are there don't forget to check out what the other DT members created - they always have awesome and inspiring creations!
I used the SCS sketch challenge - SC282 - for this week to create my card.  I stamped my image from Inkadinkado with Cameo Coral.  The background paper is from DCWV Mariposa collection and I embossed it with a Sizzix folder.  The sentiment is from PaperTrey and I stamped it on the Spellbinders Ribbon tag.

Flowery Butterfly Sketch

This is the card I made for the SCS sketch challenge this week.  It is such a nice CAS sketch.  I started out trying to use this week's Color Throw Down challenge which was to use Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise and Kiwi Kiss.  I just couldn't get in the Kiwi Kiss but I'm happy with this.  The butterfly image is from Inkadinkado and I used the smallest polka dots from PTI Polka Dots Basics for the back panel.

Supplies: Stamps - Inkadinkado, PaperTrey; Ink - SU! Rose Red; Paper - PaperTrey, Unknown (Turquoise); Misc - QuickKutz Embossing folder

Joyful Makeover

This week's SCS CAS43 challenge is to do a make over of any card in our gallery. I decided to make over the card I did for this week's FS challenge - Get Punchy for Mrs Boz and make it a Christmas card. I kept the layout the same and changed the colors, embossed background, sentiment and punched image. I really like this layout!

Swoosh of Butterflies

Welcome to another Flutter By Wednesday - geez the days seem to be swooshing by like my butterflies!! Today's challenge is to incorporate circles into our design along with a butterfly, fairy or angel. If you decide to play along, please link your creation to Mr Linky on Danni's blog.
The SCS SC256 was perfect for this FBW challenge. As soon as I saw the swoosh part (the middle curvy panel) I thought of this Inkadinkado butterfly image that I love. I brayered PaperTrey cardstock with Adirondack Sunshine Yellow, Sunset Orange and PaperTrey Summer Sunrise inks. I then stamped the butterfly image using Versafine Onyx Black. I free hand cut out the swoosh panel and attached it to the embossed card front with SU! Dimensionals. I cut the black circles with a circle Nestability and mounted the MS punched butterflies on them with Dimensionals. The black rhinestones are Amuse Micro Twinklers.
