Spring Happy Birthday
I know in some parts of the US it seems like winter is just starting with the blizzards happening as I write this post. But in my part of the country, the San Francisco area, it has been rather warm after all the rain we received and the bulbs are all blooming as well as our golden poppies. So it is looking like spring here and that is what the CAS Watercolor Card challenge is all about this month. Below is my reminder sample for the challenge:
This card was inspired by a card created by Michelle Lupton which you can see here (scroll down a bit). I white embossed the My Favorite Things Rose background image on the smooth side of a Tim Holtz Water Color card. I used my Zig Clean Color Brush pens in various shades of pink, red, yellow and orange to paint the panel. I used my PaperTrey dies to cut a piece of white card stock into the two pieces and with foam tape adhered it to the painted panel. That was then adhered to a card base. The sentiment is from PaperTrey.
I am looking forward to seeing your creations in our gallery! Thanks for coming by!

Butterfly Kisses
It is time for a reminder for the CAS Watercolor Card challenge: LOVE:
I cased one of my cards that I made several years ago - this is a valentine that I made for a friend to give to her daughter. I used water color pencils to color the image and Stickles on her wings. The heart die cuts are from Spellbinders and I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background.
I am looking forward to seeing your creations in the gallery!

Another Post! Another Anniversary Card!
I don't really make resolutions for the new year but I have decided that I would try to make multiples of a card - so here is another anniversary card using the same materials but different colors. This time I am using the colors from the Colour Q challenge:
I think I am getting this in just under the wire. I really like these colors together.
This time I embossed the MFT roses background with gold embossing powder and then did a wash with Distress ink, water and a paint brush since I don't have Coastal Cabana. I embossed the "anniversary" on vellum and added the Winnie & Walter Cutaway "happy" die cut over the vellum.
I am also submitting this to the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge:

Happy Anniversary
I couldn't wait to use this background stamp from My Favorite Things (MFT). I needed an anniversary card so this was a perfect time to use it. I used the colors from the Sunday Stamps Challenge blog:
I heat embossed the roses background with white embossing powder on the smooth side of the Tim Holtz watercolor paper and then painted the roses in with Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry Distress markers and a paint brush. The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter - I used the Cutaway die Happy and then stamped and clear embossed "anniversary".

Partial Die Cutting Cards

Jennifer McGuire shared a video on how to create cards that are Z folds with partially cut die cuts. This is the first card I created. I felt it was too plain (even for me) so I created one with a scene (see below).
Card - Closed
Card - Opened
Here is the card with the scene:

ATCAS #36 You're Out of this World!!
Welcome to the ATCAS #36 challenge. Our hostess for this challenge is Michelle and she has selected the code word(s): Far Away:

Please check out the ATCAS challenge blog for details on the prize. Also, while you're there please check out the samples from our DT for more inspiration and to see the sample from our Guest Designer, the talented Anita (in France) from My Papercraft World.
I used one of my favorite mini stamp sets and companion dies from PaperTrey to make this card. The zig zag border is from a MFT Die-namics die. I used shimmery blue cardstock from paperTrey. The moon and star were cut from felt. The circle was made with my classic Spellbinders Nestabilities.

Thank You
This card was created for several challenges on Splitcoast Stampers (SCS): CAS260 - create a border using two or more images and/ or sentiments; TLC469 - Doodling Made Easy: Place a die cut on your cardstock, trace with a white gel pen and place a piece of pattern paper behind your cut outs; and FS367 - this is a case of Lols' Fresh Daisies card. I also used the colors from Reverse Confetti's color challenge: cranberry, light blue and grey.
I used the Simon Says Stamp Fresh Daisies die and traced around it with a white gel pen before die cutting it. I backed the card front with the cranberry polka dotted paper from Memory Box. The border was created by masking off the top front of the card and stamping several images randomly with Hero Arts Charcoal Shadow Ink. The sentiment is from MFT.
ETA: I am submitting this card to Simon Says Stamp Work It Wednesday for February.

HYCCT - Ears To You!
One of the HYCCT challenges was to create a card with an ear or ears. The ears represent really being listened to...something we all want! I immediately thought of this cute SU! image and sentiment. The bunnies were stamped in Pixie Pink and I masked off the sentiment. Then after I added the MFT grass die cut and mounted the panel I masked off the bunnies and stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black.

Summer Camp Week 3 Day 3
Today's assignment was to use this week's color combination and sketches. I used sketch number 1. The butterfly circle image is from Papertrey as are the stamped hexagons. The chevron die cuts are Die-namics from MFT and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. I am really getting to like this color combination.

FBW245 - A Sketch
Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday. This week we have a sketch by our DT member Kathy:
I hope you play along with us using this fabulous sketch and if you do please remember to include a butterfly or a fairy. Then go to the FBW blog to link it up and check out the rest of the FBW DT's creations!
I used the colors from the Just Us Girls (JUGS) challenge 193:
Aqua, Harvest Gold, Kraft and White.
I just got the Butterfly Wishes stamp and die set from Clearly Besotted and used the small butterflies. The sentiment also from the set was stamped with Versamark and embossed with detail white embossing powder. I used a Darice border embossing folder on the aqua panel and an MFT border die for the scalloped border. I finished off the card with just a little bling.

ATCAS #13 Birthday
Welcome to a new ATCAS challenge! This challenge is hosted by our wonderful team leader and creator of this challenge - Kylie! Kylie has chosen the code word: BIRTHDAY.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Digi Stamps:
Now back to my card. I never can make enough masculine cards and I find them hard to make. I found this paper from the Paper Loft called Huckleberry Pond and I love the colors and patterns for card making. The kraft card stock is from PaperTrey as is the double ended banner die and button. The sentiment is from MFT.

Miss You
I feel like I am playing hooky since I made this card instead of making a card for my card class homework! I played in two more challenges:
The Dynamic Duos and Fusion:
I took the colors (they look a bit off in my photo) obviously from the Dynamic Duo challenge but also from the Fusion photo - Lesley's challenge. I used Jackie's sketch so I created a Fusion between the two!
The papers I used are from MME. The bird is a WPlus9 die cut and the branch is a part of a Memory Box die cut. I adhered the bird with a foam square and placed a blue rhinestone in the eye. The sentiment is from MFT's Pretty Poppies set and is inked in Chocolate Chip.

HELLO!
I wanted to play in some of the past week's challenges in blogland - there are so many good ones out there - so many that I get overwhelmed and usually end up not playing in any! This card is a product of CAS(E) This Sketch:
and the Play Date Cafe:
I used Memento and SU! markers and a Crafter's Companion template to make the lines. I stamped the arrows and sentiment in Memento Gray Flannel ink. The sentiment is from MFT and the arrows are from The Craft's Meow.

Hello Friend
Yay I got a chance to play with some challenges out there in blogland! I am really excited about the new challenge that started today - FUSION CARD CHALLENGE:
Not only do I love the concept but I love this first challenge - the sketch and the inspiration photo! So I chose to combine them both or FUSE them!
I am also playing in the CAS-ual Fridays challenge, CFC97 - Chevrons and Flowers.
I cut the chevrons with my MFT Die-namic die and the flowers with a Memory Box die. The flower centers are just from a hole punch. The flowers are popped up with foam squares. All papers from PaperTrey and the sentiment is from Avocado Arts.

Love is in the Air
I am seriously in a creative funk! Maybe I wore myself out in that awesome two week CAS class. I am really sad that it is over - I learned so much - especially little tips from the instructors that were priceless!
Anyway, the CAS challenge on SCS is the theme Love is in the Air, so this is my interpretation. The plane and banner dies and images are from PaperTrey. The cloud dies are from MFT and the Modern Landscape die is from Memory Box. I sponged some green Distress Inks on the lanscape and colored the house with a red marker. The sentiment is from PaperTrey and the twine is from The Twinery. I used a heart brad to attach the twine to the banner.

FBW207 Open Challenge
Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday 207 - an open challenge, which means anything goes as long as you include a butterfly or a fairy on your project. Once you create your new project please link it directly to Mr Linky on the Flutter By Wednesday blog. While you are there check out what the rest of the FBW team has created!
This card came to be from last week's SCS sketch challenge and the CAS-ology challenge which had a cue card "white". I love white on white cards and I love using different embossing folders together. I used a MS butterfly punch and PTI patterned paper scrap that I had on my desk and then embellished the butterfly with some half back pearls. The circle doily is from a set of MFT dies.

Calendar Topper
When I went to meet and stamp in Des Moines with my Yahoo group this summer we planned to exchange calendar toppers. My month was September and I thought of Back to School. This was the topper I created - Back to School Rhubarb from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps. I used the Memory Box Tree Frame and cut it down to just the part of the tree that you see and then colored it with markers. The grass was cut using my MFT Die-namics die, and after I stamped and colored Rhubarb I cut him out. This was all adhered to a piece of PTI Spring Rain card stock.
