You Are Amazing

I created this card for the SCS HYCCT1503 - symbols of fierceness, strength, camo, etc. Last year I Googled pink camo and found these cool digi papers.  I stamped the ribbon and sentiment from an Avocado Arts stamp set.  I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge for my layout.

You Brighten My Day

Another card for my homework for the Online Card Class - CAS4.  This is for Day 3, Inked Backgrounds. This technique is called Velveteen. I had several of the stamps that Karolyn used so my card looks pretty much like hers!
I used the Hero Arts Houndstooth Background stamp, Colorbox White Frost Pigment ink, PaperTrey dye inks, and solid butterfly and leaves stamps.  The butterfly is from Teresa Collins and the leaves are from PaperTrey.  The sentiment is from Avocado Arts and the tag die is from Paper Smooches. The card panel was stamped with Cornish Heritage Farms Rice Paper background stamp with New Leaf ink onto New Leaf card stock from PaperTrey.  The inked panel was adhered with foam tape.

You Brighten My Day

For OCC - Watercoloring class days 9 and 10 have us free hand watercoloring!  I drew these daisies myself with a light pencil.  I painted the daisies with my Koi watercolors.  I even used the white paint but you couldn't really see the individual petals so I redrew the lines with pencil when the paint was dry.  I did a watercolor wash with very light blue paint for the background.  The sentiment is from Avocado Arts and I cut the panel and matting with Lifestyle Crafts dies.

HYCCT: Dream Big & HOPE

I have been keeping up with the HYCCT challenges so far on SCS.  Here are two more that I created:

This card was created using the sketch from SCS for this past week.  I used Memento markers to color directly onto the butterfly stamp, spritzed it with water and then stamped to get a watercolored look.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  I used the colors from this week's Color Throw Down 263.   The stamps are by Unity.

This card was created for a HYCCT challenge as well as for an SCS Ways To Use It challenge (use an image that starts with the first letter of our username) and the Freshly Made Sketch challenge.  Both the ribbon image and the sentiment are from Avocado Arts.

I am also submitting these two cards to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog - to use clear or rubber stamps - no digital stamps.

HYCCT Many Colors of Cancer

This HYCCT challenge was to pick a color of cancer to use on our card.  I selected lavender which represents all cancers.    Family members and many of my friends have been affected by many different cancers - some have survived and some haven't.
The sentiment stamps are from Avocado Arts and the ribbon stamp is from Amuse Studio.

HYCCT Fight Like a Girl and You Are Amazing in Pink Camo

This card was from a HYCCT challenge where we were supposed to use pink camo for our background.  Since I never heard of pink camo papers I googled it and came across this awesome pink butterfly camo paper.  I used the Unscripted Sketch for this card so it came together quite quickly even though it has more detail than my usual cards.

This next card was a case of Featured Stamper Darlene Designs' Tri Colored Butterflies card:

I used the remaining pink butterfly camo on this card and stamped and die cut the butterfly, added black rhinestones and adhered it with a foam square.

HYCCT Rest of Day 1 Challenge Cards

There were three challenges issued on the first day of the month long HYCCT event.  This was the second challenge - to use orange and/or red which represent courage and strength.  I used Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch for my layout.  The doily stamp is from Sweet 'N Sassy as is the sentiment. The butterfly is from Memory Box dies.  I put a horizontal strip of masking paper across the card before I stamped the doily so that I could make this with as few layers as possible.  I drew the black lines with a marker before taking the tape off.

The third challenge was to make a relatively flat card.  The butterfly is popped up on a flat card.  The butterfly and dogwood blooms are stamps from the Hero Arts/Sizzix set as is the butterfly framelit die.
The sentiment is from Avocado Arts.

Summer Camp Wk 2 Day 5 - Subway Art

Wow - this was really time consuming but fun and totally worth the effort.  Kelly Rasmussen showed us Sentiment Piecing (aka Subway Art).  I used the same colors (combo #2) as Kelly but I didn't have the stamps she used.  I took out at least 20 or more stamp sets looking for sentiments etc that I thought would go together and fonts that I liked.  Then I did what Kelly suggested - I stamped each sentiment on computer paper that I thought I might use and then cut them out.  I arranged them on the 3.25 x 4.5 in card and when I decided what looked good to me I arranged the stamps on a stamp press.  Then starting from the bottom I stamped sentiments and images one at a time up to the top.  I noticed that the row of little hearts is a bit crooked but I am pleased overall with my first attempt at this.
I used stamps from Hero Arts, Avocado Arts, Sweet 'N Sassy, PaperTrey and Studio Calico.

Summer Camp Week 1 Day 4

Well I am finally catching up on my homework - and enjoying it immensely.  This is a case of Marion Vagg's card and was supposed to be done within 10 minutes.  I didn't time myself but I know it took me more than 10 minutes to complete this card.  The card base is Hawaiian Shores card stock.  The white panel is 3 3/4 in. x 5 1/2 in.  I die cut the Marianne Designs Fancy Flourish out of the white panel, colored the positive parts with Memento Pear Tart ink and then glued it back into place on the white panel.  I used the Memory Box Perching Reed Bird die cut and adhered it with a foam square and added a pearl for the eye.  The sentiment is from Avocado Arts.

Hello Friend

Yay I got a chance to play with some challenges out there in blogland!  I am really excited about the new challenge that started today - FUSION CARD CHALLENGE:
Not only do I love the concept but I love this first challenge - the sketch and the inspiration photo!  So I chose to combine them both or FUSE them!
I am also playing in the CAS-ual Fridays challenge, CFC97 - Chevrons and Flowers.
I cut the chevrons with my MFT Die-namic die and the flowers with a Memory Box die.  The flower centers are just from a hole punch. The flowers are popped up with foam squares.  All papers from PaperTrey and the sentiment is from Avocado Arts.

My Happy Place and CTD165

I created this card for the HYCCT challenge - to create a card inspired by my happy place.  I love being by the ocean or any large body of water.  When I saw the colors for the CTD165 I knew what I wanted to do.  I colored the palm tree with SU! markers, stamped it and cut it out.  The card front is sponged with a blending tool and I used a post-it note to mask off the line where the sky and water meet.  I cut out a circle with a Nestability and sponged on the colors and stamped the sentiment.  The palm tree is attached with Foam Squares.

Supplies: Stamps - Innovative Stamp Creations, Avocado Arts (sentiment); Paper - PaperTrey; Ink - Adirondack, Memento, SU!; Misc - Nestability, Sponges, Blending Tool, Post-It Note, FOam Squares

SCS CAS141 Challenge

I made two quick and easy cards for the CAS challenge on SCS and both cards are for the HYCCT challenges which will be sent to the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
This first one uses Kraft paper for the card base.  The patterned papers are from MME Lost and Found.  The sentiment is from Avocado Arts.  I used a Bosskutz die to create the butterfly.
On this next card I used a new butterfly die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  It is called Small Lace Faerie Queen - isn't it awesome??  I embossed the background panel with a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and used another sentiment from Avocado Arts.

Brave Heart

I created this for the HYCCT1112 challenge on SCS using this week's FTL163 from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog.  The HYCCT1112 challenge was to use at least 1 heart on your card.  This card will be going to the MD Anderson Cancer Center with the rest of the cards I've made for this month long challenge.
