Online Card Class - Simply Watercolor - Card 6
Here is card #6:
I used my Koi Field Watercolors on Arches water color paper and a #4 brush. I love using the wet on wet technique to let the colors blend together.

Online Card Class - Simply Watercolor - Cards 4 and 5
I am back with another class assignment. I made two versions of a card. The first one was done on Arches watercolor paper using my Kuretake Gamsai Tambi watercolors:
I found it very difficult to do the lettering and was not thrilled with my results. I decided to create another one on smoother watercolor paper. I also decided to use Twinkling H2O's for the background paint so there is a shimmer and shine for more interest:
I still am not happy with the sentiment but it was easier to paint on the smoother paper.

Little Flowers Notecard
This is another card that I created for homework for the Online Card Class - Intermediate Watercoloring. These flowers were created using a round paint brush and watercolor paints. I like how the petals came out but not the stems. I used the tip of the brush to make the black dots to break up the design and then mounted the panel on some striped patterned paper.

Visual Art Journal Days 2 and 3
On day two we did the emboss resist technique with a water colored background. Here I used Twinkling H2O's again. The embossed feathers are from Hero Arts.
Below are pages from day 3:
This is a freehand leaf painted with distress markers and a paint brush. I was illustrating that journaling can be done in different ways - not just writing straight across the page. Here I journaled along the edge of the leaf.
L'dor v'dor - Hebrew for "from generation to generation".
I used Color Burst water color pigment powder and placed some powders in a palette and mixed in a little water - a little powder goes a long way! I painted the colors onto this Penny Black iris with a brush, spritzed with more water and stamped. I then spritzed again and stamped and did that a few times - generation stamping.

Hello
This is my hand drawn, hand painted poppy card. I really enjoyed creating this card though it doesn't look as good as the poppy card I did with the stamps. But I intend to practice with the poppies and butterflies since I really love both. The sentiment is from Altanew.

Happy Birthday
Another hand-painted watercolored card. This was done using the technique that Jean demonstrated using water color pencils and ink. I had saved a stencil that I made from a butterfly die and lightly drew the outline with a colored pencil. The inside painting is free hand. Sentiment is from Winnie & Walter.

You Brighten My Day
For OCC - Watercoloring class days 9 and 10 have us free hand watercoloring! I drew these daisies myself with a light pencil. I painted the daisies with my Koi watercolors. I even used the white paint but you couldn't really see the individual petals so I redrew the lines with pencil when the paint was dry. I did a watercolor wash with very light blue paint for the background. The sentiment is from Avocado Arts and I cut the panel and matting with Lifestyle Crafts dies.
