Online Card Class - Simply Watercolor - Cards 4 and 5
I am back with another class assignment. I made two versions of a card. The first one was done on Arches watercolor paper using my Kuretake Gamsai Tambi watercolors:
I found it very difficult to do the lettering and was not thrilled with my results. I decided to create another one on smoother watercolor paper. I also decided to use Twinkling H2O's for the background paint so there is a shimmer and shine for more interest:
I still am not happy with the sentiment but it was easier to paint on the smoother paper.

Four Seasons Wishes
This is my second post for today...
This was created for one of the SCS VSN challenges from this past weekend. We were to create a card with 4 images for the 4 seasons. I had a package of 2 inch mini canvases and I thought these would be perfect for this challenge. I did a water color wash with Twinkling H2O's on each canvas and then stamped the images and sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I mounted them with Scor-tape on a DCWV 5" square card. The images and sentiments are from PaperTrey.
I am submitting this to Virginia's View Challenge - Watercoloring.

HYCCT Make a Wish
Another card for the HYCCT challenge. I did a watercolor wash with Twinkling H2Os on water color paper before stamping the SU! Swallowtail butterfly, PaperTrey flourish image and sentiment. Then I cut a piece of the image into a narrow panel and adhered it to the card front. It's very shimmery though you can't tell from the photo.

Flutter By Wednesday #176 - Open Challenge
Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday! This week we have an open challenge - just remember to include a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your project and link it directly to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog. For more inspiration please check out the rest of the Flutter By's blogs - they ar listed on my side bar. We also have a guest designer with us today - Amanda R and you can visit her at her blog - Cards, Cats and Copics (I think I have a lot in common with Amanda!).
My card was made for two other challenges - this week's SCS sketch challenge (SC355) and for the HYCCT1118 - to use purple on your card. I have been trying to get all of the HYCCT challenges done and all the cards will go to MD Anderson Cancer Center. I did a color wash on water color paper with Twinking H2O's and an aquabrush. When it was dry I stamped the butterfly and sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black. All panels are matted with black card stock. The image panel is popped up with foam squares.
Thanks for coming by!
Supplies: Stamps - Stampendous, Sweet 'N Sassy (sentiment); Paper - Mark's Finest Papers, Water color paper; Ink - Versafine Onyx Black; Misc - Twinkling H2O's, Aquabrush, Foam Squares

Speedy the Cat Friends Challenge #68 - Distressed Edges
Welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge #68. This week Carol challenged us to make cards with distressed edges. That isn't something I normally do on my cards so it was a good challenge to stretch me. When I thought about the distressing it made me think about this fairy image from Mark's Finest Paper's Garden Fairies. I did a Twinking H2O color wash on water color paper for the background - I thought it would look mystical - but you can't see the shimmer in the photo!
Now it is your turn to create a new project with distressed edges and link it directly to InLinkz on the Mark's Finest Papers blog for a chance to win a not yet released stamp set. If you use MFP images you will be entered twice for the chance to win! While you are visiting the blog, please check out what the other designers created!

FTL111 Happy Birthday
This sketch is the FTL111 from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog. I love these colors for a fall birthday! I had the leaf left over from another project. I did a water color wash with Pearl Ex and Twinkling H20's on water color paper, then cut and embossed the leaf with a Cuttlebug leaf die and embossing folder set. The sentiment is from PaperTrey's Birthday Bash Sentiments.

Flutter By Wednesday #124 - Sparkle and Shimmer
Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday! This week's challenge is to use sparkle and shimmer with our butterfly, fairy or angel! When you finish your new creation go to the FBW blog and directly link your card up to InLinkz. While you are there don't forget to check out what the other Flutterbies created! I wish you could see the shimmer I have on these butterflies! I did a color wash with purple and pink Twinkling H2O's on water color paper! I even took the picture outside in the sunlight to try to capture the shimmer! The sparkles that I included are the rhinestones in pink and purple. I used my PaperTrey Butterfly die to cut out the butterflies once the paper was dry. I framed them with the Cuttlebug Scrollwork embossing folder and then mounted that onto the card front.
