STAMPlorations Guest Designer for July

I am so excited to be guest designing for STAMPlorations this month. Congratulations to Shery Russ, the owner of STAMPlorations who is celebrating the company's 3rd year anniversary!!  I used the theme: Stamps and Stars and the sketch for July for my card.  Click HERE to see the challenges for July.

The sentiment is from the Bloom Sketches stamp set. I used my Memory Box star stencil to create a monoprint. I smooshed Distress Inks directly onto the stencil, misted it with water, placed my watercolor paper onto the stencil and then lifted the paper up and let it dry.

I cut the main panel from the monoprint with Simon Says Stamps stitched rectangle die, matted it with shimmery blue card stock and adhered it back to the original monoprint panel. I matted the sentiment with the same cardstock.

This card is a monoprint created from a STAMPlorations stencil. I covered the stencil with different blue distress inks and misted it with water. Then I pressed my watercolor paper down on top of the stencil. After lifting the paper up I let it dry naturally. I love how this came out. I cut out the panel with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die and then mounted it on the card base. The sentiment is from Winnie and Walter and I used my MISTI so I could get a dark, sharp impression.

OCC Background Check - Textured Backgrounds (Day 5)

My other textured backgrounds created with distress inks and embossing paste are dry so here they are:

I blended distress inks on a piece of card stock and then used a Heidi Swapp  circle stencil and covered it with embossing paste and left it to dry.













 For the second background I smooshed distress ink pads onto my craft sheet and then mixed each one with embossing paste.  I put down a strip of Squeezed Lemonade on the left side of the stencil. Then next to that I put down a strip of Mustard Seed mixed paste and then lastly Ripe Persimmon blended embossing paste. I then spread the paste from left to right covering the stencil.  I think it came out really cool!  This is a Memory Box stencil.

Using a Background for my Hero Arts Wildflowers

This is a card that I made just because - but I did use one of the backgrounds that I created for the OCC Background Check class.  The stamp is a Hero Arts stamp and I colored it with Distress Markers and then misted it with water before I stamped it onto water color paper..  The background was one that I blended distress inks onto and then used a baby wipe over  open parts of a stencil to remove some of the ink.

OCC: Background Check Day 1 Card 3

A third card for today's class assignments.  This was the easiest so far for me.  This is the first time I used a plastic stencil to dry emboss card stock. I love how this came out.

I blended Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral and Spiced Marmalade distress inks after masking off the sides of the paper (this is a one layer card).  I placed the Flutterby ARTplorations stencil on top of the inked card stock and pounced a baby wipe over it.  Once that was dry I placed the stencil back over the inked card stock and ran it through my Big Shot to dry emboss the butterflies.
