CAS Card Class Day 7 Meets PTI 6th Anniversary

Today's CAS Day 7 homework was to create a one layer card using one of the techniques shown.  I used the masking with thin and wide border stamps as Kristina did for her technique.  I used the Eclipse masking paper and cut a 4.25" square.  I then cut out a heart with a heart die and the letters from PaperTrey's alphabet dies.  After applying the negative heart mask to the front of the card I placed the letters in the negative space.  Then I sponged pink dye ink in the heart.  I used red ink and inked several different PaperTrey borders and stamped them over the heart.  I then pulled off the mask and the letter masks and added some Amuse Heart rhinestones.
I was inspired by Mailes' favorites (the middle right card) seen below:
I am also submitting this card to the Dynamic Duos challenge:
and to a new CAS challenge CAS on Sundays #1:
I love that logo!!

CAS Card Class Day 6 - You Are My Sunshine

It only took me 5 tries to get this technique at least presentable to post!  This is the patchwork technique that Jennifer McGuire presented in our online CAS Card class - she made it look sooo easy!  NOT! (at least NOT for me).  Anyway, I did like how this one came out so I didn't want to cover up the bottom daisy with a sentiment so I used a rub-on on vellum for the sentiment.  The image is from Darkroom Door company.

More Positive & Negative Thanks!

Here is another card that I made using the positive and negative die cuts that were left from the previous card.  This is the negative space of the "thanks" sentiment with the dotted paper showing through.  The positive daisy die cuts are mounted with foam tape onto the sentiment panel.
I am also submitting this to Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes.

CAS Class Bonus Day - and Cas-ual Friday

I created this card for my bonus day homework for the CAS class and for the Cas-ual Fridays challenge :
My letters were die cut with the Memory Box Thanks Die and I used the positive die cut.  The flowers are the negative space from the Simon Says Stamp Daisy die.  The top panel has some of the patterned paper adhered to the back and the panel was then adhered to the card front with foam tape. A few Kaisercraft pearls were added for interest.
I will also be submitting this to Simon Says Stamp challenge blog: Anything Goes.

Card Class Day 5 Cards 1 and 2

Here are two cards I created for the homework from today's class.  I still have to make up the homework from days 2 and 3!

I love the white embossing on Kraft cardstock.  I used Memento markers to color the flowers in.  The flowers and sentiment are from the Craft's Meow Hope Blossoms set.

Card Class Day 3 Cards 1 and 2

No, I didn't title this wrong...yes I skipped day 2 of the card class because I couldn't wait to make some cards from Day 3!  I love these colors - PTI Terracotta Tile, Orange Zest and Harvest Gold stamped onto white PTI card stock, mounted on Terracotta Tile cardfront.  The front has 1" cut off and the sentiment is actually stamped on the inside of the card with Versamark and embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder.  I didn't have the bow dies so I used my Cameo again and made the bows.  Here are pictures of each card so you can see them better.
For both cards I used different Background Basics stamp sets from PaperTrey.  It is about time that I used these sets!!
I am really loving this CAS Cards 2 Online class!

Card Class Day 1 Card 3

Still having fun with this class!  This particular card really stretched me because I didn't have the speech bubble dies so I went shopping in the Silhouette Store and bought some!  I had to resize them so they would fit on a 4"x5.25" piece of masking paper.  I also had to figure out the blade depth, etc for the Cameo which is really making me use this machine - and I am getting the hang of it!  Yay!  After cutting them out of the Eclipse Masking Paper I then put a piece of acetate on the cutting mat and ran that through the Cameo to use the negative cuts for the sponging part.  I used the eclipse positive masks on the three front speech bubbles so I could get the layering effect.  All products are from PaperTrey except for the Versamark ink and Superior Detailed White Embossing powder.

Card Class Day 1 Card 1

I am finally getting to make cards for my "homework" for the CAS Card Making 2 Online Class.  This is such a great class and I am definitely learning lots of new things and getting outside my "box".
I dry embossed the front panel since I didn't have masks and sprays to use.  The heartbeat was created on my Silhouette Cameo.
I am also submitting this to the Less Is More challenge for this week which is a sketch.

One of a Kind

I created this for the SCS QFTD100 - Understandblue - Lydia.  I was inspired by two of her cards:
Saturday Afternoon and Hiding in Plain Sight.  I used the tree frame die from Memory Box and cut it out of white PaperTrey card stock.  I colored the kitties on the PSX stamp with a black marker and a SU! Brilliant Blue marker.  The sentiment below is from PTI Friends Til the End set and was inked iwth Brilliant Blue ink.

Flutter By Wednesday #186 - Open Challenge

Please scroll down for the Mark's Finest Papers Blog Hop!

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday!  We have an open challenge which means anything goes as long as you have a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your project.  Please link your new project directly to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog so we can all see it!
I created this card for the CAS Online Cardmaking Class which is so fun!  I used my PaperTrey butterfly die and cut out the 3 butterflies.  I matted some Basic Grey Stella Ruby on the card base and then after stamping the sentiment I attached the butterfly panel to the cardbase with foam tape.

SCS CAS, TLC and Runway Inspired Challenges

This card came together as a result of several challenges and the CAS Online Cardmaking CLass.  The layout is from the CAS153 challenge - color blocking sketch, the technique lovers challenge TLC360 was to use twine and the Runway Inspiration challenge (RIC#4) is to use this picture for inspiration:
I used some Nestabilities to cut out the shapes to create my mask for reverse masking.  I used a few different blue inks and a blending tool and colored in each shape.  The rainbow and cloud die is a Sizzix Hello Kitty die.  I used The Twinery Twine to create the rainbow.  The sentiment is from paperTrey Ink.

Thanks a Million

I created this for the CAS153 challenge on SCS - it was a sketch using color blocking.  This is my take on it.  I used a Spellbinders Nesting Butterfly die and a Martha Stewart Butterfly punch to make my masks (reverse masking).  I used a blending tool and Distressed inks to color in the butterflies.  The sentiment from PaperTrey is stamped with SU! Chocolate Chip ink.
I will also submit this to the CAS Online class gallery for the technique lesson.
