Beautiful as Dreams that Dance

I absolutely love this sentiment from Impression Obsession! Then pair them up with watercolored butterflies from Hero Arts = LOVE!  I used distress inks on the butterfly and spritzed the stamp with water before stamping them onto Tim Holtz Distress Water Color Paper. I then used my MISTI and Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp the sentiment.

I am submitting this card to Less Is More Challenge - One Layer Card with the theme of Dreams:

Happy Birthday

I am finally getting to the backgrounds that I created for the Online Card Class - Background Check. This is also a case of a card from the SCS Featured Stamper Challenge.  Click here to see the post with this background.
I really like having a bunch of backgrounds ready to use - it made this card go really quickly! I already had this black Impression Obsession butterfly die cut. I die cut the "happy" with a Winnie & Walter cutaway die and Stick It on the back of some black card stock.  I stamped the "birthday" sentiment from Winnie & Walter with Versafine Onyx Black and my MISTI.

Another Fusion and Coloring Challenge Card

I had to make another card for the Fusion Challenge since I loved both the photo and the sketch. I fused the two together and just flipped the sketch by placing the butterfly on the lower right hand corner.  I stamped the Stamplorations gerbera flowers with Memento London Fog ink and colored them in with Copic markers.  I then used two Impression Obsession butterfly dies and popped the butterfly up with foam squares.

OCC - Watercoloring Day 1 Last Card

This is for a technique from the first day of class and the one I found to be the most challenging.  You create your water color background and while it is still wet you lay down a stencil over it and then wait until the paint is dry.  You are supposed to see the pattern from the stencil.  So if you look really closely you can see a tiny diamond pattern at the top left and lower right.  Jen Rzasa made it look so easy!  I stamped the panel with an mage from Impression Obsession with Versafine Onyx Black and I used the smooth side of the Tim Holtz Watercolor paper.

I'll be back with more cards from today's class.  Thanks for coming by!

L' Shana Tova

Today is Erev Rosh Hashana - this evening at sundown the Jewish New Year Starts and lasts through Thursday sundown.  Today I will be baking a Caramelized Apple and Cinnamon (Gluten-free) cake and an Apple Crisp to take to my temple this evening for the Oneg (snack) after services.

This image is from a Zenspirations set called Judaica for Impression Obsession.  I stamped it with a Kalaidecolor ink pad.  The sentiment is from PaperTrey's Mazel Tov! set.

Thanks for coming by and L'Shana Tova!

ATCAS #1 - SNOW!!!

Finally it is time for the first Addicted to CAS challenge!!! Our code word is SNOW.  Check out what the design team created for your inspiration on the Addicted to CAS blog.  Our sponsor for our first challenge is Joanna Munster from Inspired By Stamping and our winner will receive a $20 gift voucher from Joanna's online store!!  So create a project inspired by the code word SNOW, keep it CAS and link it up to the ATCAS blog for a chance to win!
I blended Adirondack and Distress Inks on white card stock and ran it through my Big Shot with a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder.  I then sanded off the ink.  I used an Impression Obsession tree die to cut out the tree line and adhered it to the inked and embossed panel.  The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink and I used Frosted Lace Stickles on the trees, hill line and snowflakes.

I am also entering this card to Cas-ual Fridays 79 - Winter Blues:

Wishing You a Sweet New Year

My temple is having a Labor Day BBQ and fundraiser and I made a few sets of cards to raffle off.  These are the Rosh Hashana (Jewish New Year) cards that I created for one set to raffle off.  The image stamp is a Zenspirations image from Impression Obsession and the sentiment is from paperTrey's Mazel Tov set.  I embossed the image in white and black and blended Distress Inks for the background.

Flutter By Wednesday #160 - Open Challenge

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday - this week we have an open challenge and are being sponsored by Through the Craftroom Door.  So anything goes this week as long as you have a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your project.  Link your project directly to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog and while you are there check out what the other Flutter By's created!
I was inspired by this week's Mojo Monday 197 sketch and the SCS color challenge colors.  I stamped the butterfly image (the large butterfly and both smaller butterflies in a circle is the complete image) on white card stock, colored it in with markers and an aquabrush and cut it out.  I matted it on Raspberry Fizz card stock and then onto the card base which was cut out with Nestabilities and then embossed with the Cuttlebug Distressed Lines embossing folder.  I added rhinestones to the small butterflies.

Flutter By Wednesday #117

Yay it's Wednesday and if you've been to my blog long enough you might remember that it is Flutter By Wednesday!  Today is an open challenge which means you can make any card as long as you have a butterfly, fairy or an angel on it.  Then go to the Flutter By Wednesday blog to post a direct link to your card on In Linkz.  Don't forget to visit the other Flutterby's - their blog addresses are on the FBW blog's right side.
A few weeks ago I had created a card with a similar image to today's.  These images are so much fun to color.  I used water color pencils and an aquabrush to color the image.

Flutter By Wednesday#115

I could't wait for Flutter By Wednesday today - it is an open challenge - you just need to include a butterfly, fairy or an angel.  I couldn't wait to use this new butterfly image I got from Impression Obsession.  I saw my friend and fluttering teammate Nancy's awesome card here and had to get that image!  I did get it and while I was putting that image in my cart this awesome image also fluttered into my cart!  OMG this is so much fun to color!! I used water color pencils and an aquabrush and added some highlights with a white gel pen.  I finished it off with some scoring for some balance and texture.  Now it is your turn to play - just create a new card or project with a butterfly, fairy or an angel and directly link it to InLinkz on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.  While you are there, please check out what the other Flutterby's created!

CAS24 Color Challenge

I was lucky enough to be chosen to make samples for the SCS CAS challenge for the months of June, July and August. This week's challenge is a color challenge: turquoise, yellow and orange. I made these three cards for samples. This first one is actually a combination of last week's CAS challenge, inspiration from art.com, and this week. Here is the art I used for inspiration: KarmaPrint

The next two are using the same stamp from Stampendous. Both images were colored with watercolor pencils and an aquabrush. The image on the turquoise card was covered in Versamark and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. The image was cut out with my long rectangular Nestabilities and then I stamped the sentiment from PaperTrey's Mixed Messages set. The one layer card is done on beautiful Fabriano paper and I added some Amuse Twinklers to the body of the dragonfly and below the image. The wings have Lace stickles.

Supplies: Stamps – Impression Obsession, Stampendous, PaperTrey; Paper – PaperTrey, Bazzil, Fabriano; Ink – Tempting Turquoise, Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange, Versamark, Versafine Onyx Black; Misc – Amuse Twinklers, Scor-pal, Dimensionals, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, Lace Stickles
