Flutter By Wednesday

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday!  This week we have an open week, which means the only requirement is to have a butterfly, fairy or and angel on your project.  I hope you play with us and if you do, please provide a direct link to your creation on Mr Linky on the Flutter By Wednesday blog. And while you're there don't forget to check the creations by the rest of the Flutter By DT! Their links are on the side bar.

I got this image from Auntie Amy's stamps at the CHA Super Show. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI white card stock. I colored the fairy with Koh-i-noor colored pencils and baby oil and cut her out. I stamped the image again on vellum and embossed with clear EP. I cut out the wings and attached them just at the body so the wings are free. I colored the wings with Spica glitter pens. You can't see the sparkle but it is there!

Thanks for coming by!

Supplies: Stamps - Auntie Amy's; Ink - Memento; Paper - PaperTrey, Basic Grey, Vellum; Misc - Clear Embossing Powder, Koh-i-noor Colored Pencils, Baby Oil, Blending Stumos, MS Butterfly punch, Kaiserkraft Rhinestones, Ribbon

CHA Super Show - Day 2 of Stamping Star Sightings!

Sorry it has taken me so long to post the second day of the Super Show photos!  I came home last night from Anaheim and was so tired.  So without further ado, here are more picks of my stamping star sightings!!

Here, hanging around SCS on day 2 are Deb, Lynne (from St Louis) and Heather (HIR976 on SCS).  I follow Lynne's blog and she had been the hostess for the Technique challenge on Mondays at SCS for quite a while!

OMG I was so excited to meet these two sweet and super talented ladies - Debbie Olson and Sharon Harnist.

And they even had me stand with them to get my picture taken with them!

After meeting them and after I came down to earth I went to the Taylored Expressions booth to do a Make N Take.  OMG like I said in my last blog post, this was another super spot for stamp star sightings.  Check this out:

Here is Taylor with some of her Bakers Dozen. Wait a minute - who do I see in the front row?  Well that is Lisa Johnson!  I was standing next to her when I did the Make N Take too!  I was trying to channel her talent!

Sankari and Jackie were taking a break from the MnT's.

And Here is Jodi Collins - KharmaGirl - helping with the Make N Take.  I was super excited to meet Jodi - she is such a friendly and talented stamper!!

After hanging out at the TE booth I met up with Bev and Joan again and the three of us met up with Broni (Splashes of Watercolor).

And here is another sweet stamping star - Amy Sheffer!  I absolutely love Amy's creations.  If you haven't been to Amy's blog, it is a must - Pickled Paper Designs.
I was hoping some of Amy's talent would rub off onto me!!

I guess orange is the new black!?!

Beate, Joan and Tenia

Marti (of Pezzadoodle) and Suzanne Dean

Not to name drop or anything but OMG it is ELLEN HUDSON!!!!!  She is as sweet and genuine as they come.

And here I am with Ellen:  I think my face was hurting from smiling so much!!

Towards the end of Saturday I heard that Anna Wight had arrived.  You may know her as Sweet Miss Daisy on SCS.  I love her whimsical images that she draws for Whipper Snapper designs.  I also love reading her blog when she writes about her life on the farm.  Oh and what a photographer too!  Anna is amazingly talented!

City chick (no pun intended) meets farm gal!

At the end of the day on Saturday SCS was raffling off prizes - everyone gathered around:

Here's Lori Tecler - Inking Aloud

Wendy and Connie

Well that about wraps it up for Day 2 of Stamping Star Sightings!  I hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I did taking them and hanging out with the stars!
Thanks for coming by!

CHA Stamp Star Sightings!!

I had such a blast at the CHA Super Show on Friday and Saturday! I am posting some pictures of stamp stars that I spotted on Friday and tomorrow I will post pictures from Saturday.
Upon entering the great Hall A at the Anaheim convention center I came upon the SCS Booth. That was THE place for stamp star sightings! Who did I spot first? None other than Jenn and Beate!

And yes, here is a picture of HSKELLY - me - Harriet Skelly - not H.S. Kelly as some people thought, with Jenn...

and Beate, both very gracious hostesses!

Who else did I sight at the SCS booth and surrounding area?
Kendra, Lori and Deb! I met Deb a few years ago (virtually) on the challenge chaser thread where we would chat with everyone while waiting for the challenge to be posted. I was so excited to finally meet her in real life. I "know" Kendra and Lori from reading their blogs! Lori did an excellent job of making me (and everyone) feel welcome at the SCS booth!

And I was also excited to meet Cindy, whose blog I also follow!

These two wonderful ladies, Bev and Joan, let me hang out with them quite a bit on Friday and Saturday. They were so fun to hang with! Thanks so much you two!

Across the way from the SCS booth was the Lizzie Anne booth.

Another great stamp star sighting spot was right by the Taylored Expressions booth. There I spotted.....

Jami and

Jackie and Karen..

and Oh Look! It is Taylor and me! I also got to meet Jon, Taylor's husband and Taylor's mom. I thought I had a picture of them too but it wasn't on my camera...hmmm.

Here is Dawn, one of the Bakers Dozen, with Taylor. I will have more of the Bakers Dozen on tomorrow's post.

Then back by the SCS booth in the afternoon I spotted ...

Jimmie (JPMAYO)...

and Carolina and Valerie!

And late in the day, right before I had to leave and not more than 20 minutes after she arrived, I spotted Cammie (Caroline King)! She was so sweet to have her picture taken with me! Cammie is one of the first friends I made on SCS and is very special to me.

Well I hope you enjoyed these stamp star sightings and I will be back with more tomorrow!

Upsy Daisy Sketch

This card was created using the SCS sketch this week - SC264. I wanted to make a card using soft suede, vanilla and black and I wanted to try to make this as clean and simple (CAS) even though the sketch called for q lot of layers. So this is what I ended up with . I love the Upsy Daisy image - to me it looks great in any color! I added a copper dragonfly brad - I thought this came out kind of boring so the brad at least adds some interest.
Thanks for coming by!
Supplies: Stamps - Upsy Daisy; Ink - Versafine Onyx Black; Paper - PaperTrey Vintage Cream, Recollections Black, SU! Soft Suede; Misc - brad

FS Done in Challenge Colors

I really love the Featured Stamper (FS) challenge on SCS. This week we were to case jdmommy (Anne). I love Anne's cards and had several of her cards in my favorites. This was the 3rd or 4th one that I cased actually! Her original card was called Spooooky Iris. I used this week's SCS color challenge - Ruby Red, Bashful Blue and Soft Suede. The shadow stamp is from Hero Arts, the rose is Penny Black and the sentiment is from PaperTrey. I used SU! markers, colored right onto the stamp, then stamped the images. I finished it off with a red velvet ribbon.

Going to CHA - Through The Trees!!

Well I am going to the CHA Super Show Friday and Saturday. I have scheduled some posts while I'm gone but I hope to have some good pictures to upload of the Super Show and the SCS superstampers that I will meet there! I am so excited!
Anyway, I just got my PaperTrey order and had to ink up this image from Through the Trees right away. I used the SCS color challenge colors - Ruby Red, Bashful Blue and Soft Suede (Close to Cocoa). I inked up the image with Versamark and Close to Cocoa ink, stamped it on PaperTrey white card stock and then embossed it with clear EP. Then I sponged Bashful Blue over the image and wiped off the resisted ink. Then I stamped the two birds with Ruby Red (used the marker to ink up the stamp). I used a Cuttlebug border embossing folder to the right of the image and then matted that panel on Soft Suede. I used a white gel pen to fill in the "cracks" in the trees.
Thanks for coming by!
Supplies: Stamps - PaperTrey; Ink - Versamark, Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue; Paper - PaperTrey, SU!; Misc - Clear EP, SU! marker, white gel pen, sponge, Cuttlebug Border embossing folder

Flutter By Wednesday

Wow last week was so much fun fluttering to all the DT blogs looking for butterflies! I had this blog candy to give away

and the random generator picked number 33: Inkypuddles
inkypuddles said...

beautiful card. Love that border punch, thanks for the inspiration!

Congratulations Inkypuddles! Please email me (hskelly@pacbell.net) with your snail mail address by Saturday, January 23. If I don't hear from you by then I will rerun the random number generator and pick another winner.

Today's Flutter By Wednesday is an open one again - just use a butterfly, fairy or angel on your card. Don't forget to put a direct link to your card on Mr Linky on the Flutter By Wednesday blog so we all can see your creation! And while you are over there don't forget to check out what the other Flutterbies have created - their links are on the sidebar.

Now on with my cards for today. When I saw this new stamp set by GinaK's daughter, Wishes and Dreams, I knew I had to get it. The images are perfect for FBW's and my daughter loves Anime. She even draws Anime. The stamps came with a free card making kit when purchased at release time. So I made 3 cards. I really love this set and the fairy images!

I used some Copics to color in this first one. I don't have very many so there isn't a lot of shading going on! The kit came with the black, pink and white card stock and the stamp set. I cut the images out with my Blossom nesties and sponged a bit of Pretty in Pink ink around the edges while it was still in the die. I used different embossing folders on the pink backgrounds.

The second and third card were colored with Koh-i-noor colored pencils and baby oil. I used the Copic Spica glitter pens on all three cards - over the wings and hair and eyes though you really can't see the sparkle in the photos!

I really enjoyed using this card kit and I loved coloring in these images!

SMOOCHES!

I love this little girl image and had to have her when I first saw her. She was designed for Alota Rubberstamps by one of the SCSers that plays in the challenges - Biggan (Birgit is her real name). I used the colors and sketch from this week's SCS challenges.
I used images from several different stamp companies. The oval frame is from Scrappy Cat, the little girl is from Alota Rubber Stamps and the hearts and sentiment are from 2 different PaperTrey sets. I really like to combine images from different sets. I stamped the girl in Memento Rich Cocoa and cut her out. I colored her with SU! markers and a Copic marker for the skin, and popped her up on SU! Dimensionals.
