Happy Birthday Lynette!

Today is my BSF, Lynette's, birthday. I made this card for her. Isn't she cute??? This is a Pure Innocence image from MFT (My Favorite Things). I used one of Mercy Kerin's sketches though I can't remember which one! I paper pieced the dress with Making Memories paper and the background is made with Making Memories and PaperTrey patterned papers. I hope you will go visit Lynette's blog - My Stamping Addiction and wish her a happy birthday!

Season's Greetings Everyone!

I haven't been able to make any cards for the past week since I have been in Southern California visiting my mom. She had a hip replacement this past Monday and is now in a rehab facility getting the therapy she needs to be able to go home. I thought I'd post this card to wish all of you a happy holiday season - whatever holiday you celebrate - or not!

FBW with a Sketch from Mercy!

This week's Flutter By Wednesday (FBW) is to follow a sketch that Mercy Kerin provided us. You are probably familiar with Mercy - every Tuesday she has a sketch challenge on her blog. She was also our guest designer a few weeks ago. Here is the sketch that she designed for us.

You just need to include a butterfly, fairy or angel with this sketch. I hope you create a project with this sketch and if you do, please directly link it up to Mr Linky on Danni's blog so we can see what you created! Oh and starting in January we (the FBW DT) will have our own blog for the challenges. Check it out here: Flutter By Wednesday's. There will be lots of fun events going on there in 2010!!

And here is my card. I just love these Pure Innocence images from My Favorite Things (MFT). This one is called Fairy Wishes. I used Making Memories Chloe's Closet patterned paper to piece her dress and shoes and for the matting and strips behind the main image. I colored the rest of her with copics and added Star Dust Stickles to her wand, wings abd hearts and shoes. I used a new Cuttlebug embossing folder that I got from the UK. And the finishing touch - of course - a butterfly punched from the MM paper with a MS punch. Pearls were added to the BF.

FTL72 - Happy Chanukah

I made another Chanukah card using the Clean and Simple Stamping blog FTL#72. This was a very fun sketch to work with and has so many possibilities. I will make a few more of these to send out and I will be done! Then back to Christmas cards!!
I used the "pond ripple" from PaperTrey (PTI) Pond Life to make it look like the dreidels are spinning (well one fell already!). The sentiment is from PTI's Mazel Tov set. I pierced a line in front of the sentiment and hung a Star of David with twine from the ribbon.

Another Hanukkah Card

This is the second Hanukkah card I made - it is using the FTL#70 or SC258 sketch. Please scroll down to the previous post to see the other card I am sending out. This one is a lot faster to create so I will make mostly these. The silver cardstock on the left side of the image panel doesn't look silver in this photo but it is.

Supplies: Stamps - PaperTrey Mazel Tov; Ink - Versamark; Paper - PaperTrey; Misc - Silver EP, Ribbon, RHinestone stickers, Cuttlebug Embossing folder

Happy Hanukkah

Friday evening at sundown Hanukkah starts. It is a good thing there are 8 days of Hanukkah because I haven't gotten all my cards made and sent out yet. This is one that I will be sending out. I will post others that I make as they get done.
I used the Mazel Tov stamp set from PaperTrey. I stamped the Menorah with Versamark and embossed it with silver EP. The sentiment was stamped in Versamark, then Enchanted Evening ink and clear embossed. The dots at the bottom of the image panel are from Polka Dot Basics and were stamped with Versamark and embossed with silver EP. I used Enchanted Evening ribbon and some silver ribbon from my stash and matted the panels with Enchanted Evening cardstock. I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and my Scor-pal for the bottom mat. I decorated the Menorah with some blue rhinestone stickers.

FBW - Warm Holiday Wishes

Here we are again - Wednesday - Flutter By Wednesday! This week we have a winter theme and of course include a butterfly, fairy or angel. If you decide to play along, post a direct link to your card to Mr Linky on Danni's blog so we can see what you created! While you're there be sure to take a look at what the other Flutterbies have created!

I am still making holiday cards so I took advantage of FBW to create another one. This is Eloise Greengrass and I usually dress her up for spring. Here she is all decked out for the holidays. I think she looks great in red and green, don't you? I paper pieced her skirt and flower with Basic Grey Phoebe paper. I colored her shirt, hair ribbon and shoes with SU! markers and covered her wings with Star Dust Stickles. Added a few rhinestones and she is ready for the holidays!

Inspired by Food!

Today's color challenge (CC248) on SCS is Always Artichoke, Barely Banana and Rich Razzelberry. I made a mistake and used Old Olive instead of the Always Artichoke. I thought this was a difficult color combination but I really like it. I used my SU! markers to color right on the image and stamped it on PaperTrey Stampers Select. I cut the image, the mat and the cardbase with the Curved Rectangle Nestabilities. I finished it off with a button and some ribbon. A quick and easy CAS card!

FS and CAS Challenge Cards

I have two cards for today's post. They are both for the Featured Stamper (FS) challenge on SCS and the second one is also for the CAS44 color challenge - to use red, brown and white/vanilla. The FS this week is Michele (MitchyGitchyGoomy) who has a great gallery to stroll through!

This first card is a case of Michele's Feel Better card. I love the stacked up animals and I just got this Shirley's 2 Girls stamp set and had to ink it up! I think the animals are so cute! I colored it with Koh-i-noor pencils and Baby Oil and used a button for the sunflower center.

The second card is a case of Michele's The Sweetest Little Bear... I kept the basic layout and changed the image, sentiment and placement, and the colors - using the CAS44 challenge colors. I also colored this image with the Koh-i-noor pencils and Baby Oil after stamping the image with Memento Rich Cocoa.

Supplies: Stamps - Shirley's 2 Girls, Taylored Expressions; Ink - Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Rich Cocoa, SU! Close to Cocoa, PTI Scarlet Jewel; Paper - PaperTrey; Misc - PTI Vintage Button, ribbon, Cuttlebug Border embossing folder, Nestabilities, MM Poinsettia and brad, SU! Dimensionals

Orange Poppies

I made this card for the SCS Inspiration Challenge - IC209. We were to pick a charm from the Charm Lady Boutique to use as inspiration. I loved many of the charms and decided to use the Orange Poppies for my inspiration. I stamped an image from Innovative Stamp Creations (ISC) Nature Silhouettes I with Versamark on PaperTrey's Vanilla Cream card stock and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I brayered Adirondack Orange Sunset over the entire image and cut out a 3.75" square piece of the stamped image and matted it on 4.25" in square card front. Very quick and easy!

White Christmas Wreath

The SCS LSC249 (Limited Supply Challenge) is to create a white Christmas card and to limit your materials to the following:
  • 1. Only White Cardstock!
  • 2. Only White or Clear embellishments
  • 3. No patterned paper, unless it's all white!
  • 4. You may use any color ink you wish, but only ONE color.
  • 5. No coloring (i.e. copics, watercolors, etc)
  • 6. Limit your layers/embellies (I'll leave that to your discretion, but ya'll know what I mean)
I love white on white cards, so this was not a hard challenge - but a fun one!! I used the Cuttlebug Wreath embossing folder on PaperTrey Stampers Select card stock. I embellished with half back pearls and a white satin ribbon (attached with a glue dot). That's it!

Thanks for coming by!

Supplies: Paper - PaperTrey Stampers Select; Misc - Cuttlebug Wreath embossing folder, half back pearls, PaperTrey satin ribbon, Glue Dots

Flutter By Wednesday Sketch

Wow not only is it already December, but it is Wednesday already! Sheesh, the days are just whizzing by!! Today's Flutter By Wednesday (FBW) is another open challenge - you just need to use a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your card or project. If you decide to play, please link your card or project to Mr Linky on Danni's blog. And while you are there, I hope you check out the other FBW DT members' creations - the links to their blogs are on Danni's side bar.
So on to the card - I used SU! Inspired by Nature stamp set. I brayered the card stock with Adirondack Sunrise Yellow and PaperTrey Summer Sunrise. I then placed a circle mask on and brayered SU! Ruby Red from the top and down over the mask. I removed the mask and stamped the grass in Chocolate Chip. I used a white gel pen to make some highlights.

Thanks for coming by!
