Simply the Best

I love how this came out - I used freezer paper for a mask. I cut the freezer paper with the PaperTrey butterfly die and ironed it onto the watercolor paper.  I then watercolored around and over the mask using the wet on wet watercolor technique.  I carefully lifted the mask off when the panel was dry and stamped the sentiment (from Technique Tuesday). I added a few gems and mounted it onto aqua mist card stock and added a thin black strip to make the watercolor panel pop.

I am submitting this to:

Flowers for Fusion

I was inspired by the gorgeous flowers in the flower photo for the Fusion challenge:

I stamped the Technique Tuesday flower image three times with Antique Linen Distress ink onto the smooth side of the Tim Holtz Distress Water color paper.  I then used the wet on wet water coloring technique to loosely water color the images.

Triple Stamped Poppies

This is my second post for today.  Please scroll down for my first post.

Two challenges called for the Triple Stamping technique: SCS Technique Lovers Challenge and the Friday Mashup.  I used the colors from the Colour Me ... Striking Challenge:

I stamped the Technique Tuesday poppies onto the three sizes of cardstock with my MISTI tool.  I am really glad I got this tool - I needed to re-ink and re-stamp the image and the MISTI tool allows you to do this perfectly!  The poppies are colored with Copic markers.

Old Cake Whisperer - Female and Male

These cards were created for a few challenges over at SCS.  They both used the CC511 colors Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Whisper White - hence the name of this post.  I thought these colors would be great for either female or male cards.  The first card was also for the FS challenge which was to case a card from Dougnat's (Natalie) gallery.  I cased Natalie's Make Every Day Magical card.  The image is from Unity and the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.

This next card was created for the QFTD242 challenge which was to case a card from beesmom's (Maura's) gallery.  I cased Maura's Thanks card.  The main image and sentiment are from Hero Arts and the background was created by inking a Memory Box stencil.

A Break from Holiday Cards

I am so glad to be done with all holiday card making now.  I took advantage of the SCS color challenge for this week - black, white and honey.  I made the first card with the CASology challenge in mind - cue card LIGHT.

I had a few of the Paper Smooches skyline die cuts left over from my last project so I used them here and cut the sun from PaperTrey patterned paper.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

This next card is a case for the SCS Featured Stamper from this week.  The stamp set is from Technique Tuesday and I paper pieced the chickies with patterned paper from PaperTrey.  I think these chickies are so cute!!

Yesterday I had lunch with my blogging/stamping friends Darnell and Kim.  It was very fun as always.  These two keep me laughing!  Here's a picture of us:

Hello Sweet Friend

I created this for the SCS HYCCT challenge and for the Virginia's View challenge - CAS cards.  I just love theses Technique Tuesday chicks.  I colored them with my Copic markers and added PaperTrey patterned paper to the side.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

You Are Simply The Best

This is a copy of Sandy's card that she created for our OCC - Copics for Cardmakers class.  We were learning to shade with grays and blend with hard colors such as red.  This really looks better in real life - the flowers are on foam squares and there is a lot of dimension that I couldn't capture in the photo.  The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.

Some Watercolored Cards

This was created for the SCS color challenge this week.  I used the Art Impressions set with Distress markers and paint brushes.

This was for the CAS SCS challenge - also a color challenge.  I used the Baleek technique on the card front - brayered Certainly Celery on the inside of the embossing folder, then ran the card front in the folder through the Big Shot.  This card has an oval window already cut out.  The inside is the water colored flowers.

This card was also created for the SCS CAS color challenge.  I used this 4 step stamp set from Rubbernecker and colored the stamps with Hero Arts Shadow inks and Distress Inks, misted them with water, then stamped.  I used my scor-pal to create embossed sunrays and ran an ink pad over them.

This last card is a case of the SCS Featured Stamper's card.  I used my watercolor paints with the wet on wet technique.  The flowers are from Hero Arts and the sentiment is from Avery Elle.  I added clear rhinestones as embellishments.

Stained Glass Poppies

This card didn't come out as good as Kathy's card in class.  I don't like that the embossed stems don't show up very well and I don't have vellum adhesive so you can see splotches and the vellum oval isn't lying flat.  I do like how the flowers and buds came out though.  I used water color crayons here.  The yellow/orange poppy is like the poppies we have her in California - orange with yellow rims.

Another Faux Hand Painted Card

I have to say that I am very proud of this painting.  It did take me two hours to complete the flower panel.  I used the technique that Tasnim shared in class.  I started with one flower (from Technique Tuesday stamped in Antique Linen) ) in the middle, painted with the wet on wet method with Distress Inks and paint brushes and really liked how it came out so I decided to mask that off and do a few more.  Three didn't look like enough so I did five!  I cut a Spellbinders frame from gold paper to mat the panel.  I added a touch of Wink of Stella to the flower centers.

Summer Camp Wk 2 Day 5 Card 3

For my ATCAS challenge card, please click here.

This is the last card for my homework from the Card Camp Week 2 Day 5.  This is a case of Jessica Witty's card.  There are three layers of stamping.  The first is on white card stock and the 2nd two layers are on vellum and then they are adhered to a Smokey Gray card base.
The images are from PaperTrey and Technique Tuesday.

A Case Study

This is my case of Maile's card from Case Study Challenge 139:
I used flower images from The Craft's Meow, a sentiment from Technique Tuesday and the patterned paper is from MME.  I added some coral rhinestones to bring in the color of the button in Maile's card.

Cherish

I used the colors from this week's SCS color challenge and the sketch from today's SCS sketch challenge.  I am submitting this to Simon Says Stamp challenge blog - theme is April Showers and/or Spring Flowers.
I stamped the Technique Tuesday Rose with Memento Tuxedo Black onto coral card stock from my stash and then highlighted the flower with Copic Markers.  I matted the image with white card stock.  I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Patterned paper is from PaperTrey.
Sentiment is also from Technique Tuesday.

Just Because

Here is another card for the FUSION card challenge using the sketch for the Clean and Simple Stamping blog - FTL235.  For this Fusion entry I am using just the photo inspiration (Lesley's challenge) - so I drew the colors from the photo as well as flowers.
The image is from Technique Tuesday and I stamped it with Memento ink and colored it with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.  I went over the flowers with Spica gitter pens.  The seniment is also from the same TT set.

Just Because

I made this card based on a card I saw on Pinterest.  I stamped the flower from Technique Tuesday with Versamark on black cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then I did the same thing with black embossing powder on Red cardstock and cut that flower out.  I matted the black panel onto red cardstock and then onto a white card front.  I used a white gel pen on the red flower center and put some black pearls in the center and popped it up on a foam square.
It was fun to make a card "just because" with no challenges in mind!

ATCAS #8 WINGS

There were great Masculine cards the last two weeks at the ATCAS challenge blog!!  This next challenge, hosted by the very talented Florence is about WINGS - anything with wings!  We also have a wonderful sponsor, All That Scraps:
This week we are sponsored by

CHRISTINE IS OFFERING OUR WINNER 3 RUBBER STAMPS FROM THE CC DESIGNS RANGE OR 5 DIGITAL STAMPS OR YOUR CHOICE AVAILABLE AT ALL THAT SCRAPS!!!

Here is my take on WINGS:
I love this technique of sponging in the negative space of a die cut and then stamping inside it.  This is a negative cut of the Spellbinders Butterfly Nestabilities.  I used SU! Almost Amethyst and Sage Shadow inks and then stamped the music background from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps with Versafine Onyx Black and then removed the mask.  The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.  I added some light green and light purple rhinestones to finish off the card.

FBW214 - Thanks!

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday 214 - our theme this week is Thankful/Thank You.  I absolutely love this Technique Tuesday butterfly.  This is a quick and easy card to mass produce.  The butterfly is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored in with Memento markers.  The sentiment is from WoodwareUSA.
Now it is your turn to create a Thankful themed project and make sure you include a butterfly or a fairy and then link it up to Mr Linky on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.  While you are there, be sure to check out the projects from the rest of the FBW DT!

I am also submitting this to Casology - Cue Card is Thanks.

Just a Little Note

This is for the Freshly Made Sketches 39:
I have been in Iowa and now Minnesota stamping with my Yahoo Stamping group friends.  This is our 6th year that we have gotten together to stamp, eat, laugh, have fun, shop, laugh, eat.... Anyway, I had created this tri-fold card while in Iowa, using a friend's embossing folder and left it blank to do something with it later.  Well I thought it was perfect for the FMS39.  I added the scallop and plain circles and the cut and embossed Spellbinders bird and branch that I found in my  friend Lynette's card parts box. The sentiment is from a Technique Tuesday stamp set.
